Happy, Happy Birthday Truman, Dear!

For weeks leading up to his birthday, Truman kept asking, “Mom are you going to do that thing where you decorate my room?
“What thing?”, I’d always say.
Truman: “You know, with the balloons and streamers and stuff.”
Mom: “Uh, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Truman: “Errr, Mom!!!!”

Our birthday tradition isn’t a surprise anymore, but that didn’t curb Truman’s enthusiasm about it at all.

I think the day felt like forever for Truman, since we waited until Dad got home from work to open presents and eat cake. Luckily, Dad came home a little early that day!

Truman was happy to find some of is favorite things in those gift bags: Legos, squirrel things, and candy!

As soon as I saw this tutorial online, I knew I could finally make one of those character cakes that Truman has always wanted.
Truman narrowed it down to Angry Birds, a zombie from Plants vs. Zombies, or a squirrel. Angry Birds won this year!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest 7 year old I know!
