Haloween in Flower Mound!

Image
Here we are. Looking at this picture, Kirk looks like a vulcan, but in reality he's just himself with hair. He did wear his Geek Squad shirt to add to the geeky mop on his head. Ethan is the shark, these are shoes and pants sticking from the sharks mouth. Koral was Minnie Mouse, and my good friend Terri Parker visiting from Ann Arbor, Michigan, painted her face for me. Korbin was a mad scientist, and Teage a clown. As always, I'm a party pooper when it comes to Halloween and didn't dress up. I think I was traumatized as a child, because I hate this holiday. Just skip it and move right on to Thanksgiving!

We joined up with our good friends the Nickerson's for a bit in our neighborhood.

The end of a hard day!!

Kirk has gotten the kids into counting and sorting. Korbin hauled in some 167, Ethan 156, and Koral 150. Kirk (who was supposedly trick-or-treating for Teage), hauled in a good amout as well. Now that the candy is here, Kirk is starting to be the Halloween scrooge and wants to give the kids 1 week, then at the end of the week, he's tossing everything. I remember saving my candy for months. Kirk's brother used to save it for almost a year. Kirk says that's just not the way it is any more. Kids now have so much candy that they just don't need any more. He's also starting to play Dentist, as he's making the kids brush after they get done eating their candy!

The day before Halloween!

Image
One last trip out to the pumpkin patch to frolic in the autumn mist.

Image
We really were behind this year. We picked up pumpkins only today and then spent the night carving and eating donuts and hot chocolate.

Oct 5, 2008 Surprise!!!

Image
On my birthday, I heard a knock on my door. Kirk quickly made himself busy and asked me to get the door. He had just come home from an "interview" at a Starbucks at the airport. Sounds fishy? Well, it wasn't at the time. So, he walks in and gives me my kiss and pinch on the rear and we chat for a while. Then this knock. After the screaming died down, I invited my sister from Las Vegas in and we all enjoyed a great week together. It was the best birthday surprise ever.

Image
We spent a lot of time at the pumpkin patch. We got some great foto's of some cute little kiddo's.

Image
This is scrapbook material for sure.

Misc pics

Image
Korbin was such an incredible helper with dad out in the yard. Perhaps this attitude of his will change as he turns into a teenager, but he wanted to mow the lawn each week. Kirk did very little mowing at all this summer, he'd just sit in the driveway and watch. We can't wait until Korbin can start babysitting as well. We're outa here!! Okay, we are really not that bad.

Image
Teage and his cousin Brody. Mel's sister's kids are all pretty close in age to ours. Hey, do you notice that yellow letter on Teage's shirt...I can barely make it out...what is it?

Image
Flower Mound has the most incredible pumpkin patch. We do miss the ones in Ann Arbor, MI, especially the cider and donuts and fall colors, but this one had some serious pumpkins!

A princess birthday party. It was a Cinderella moment as Koral walked down our spiral stairway. Couldn't be more beautiful.

Sept 9, 2008 Korals First day of Preschool

Image
I know I'm a bit behind in my blog, but here was Koral's first day at Lewisville Christian School. She was actually a pertty good (that's Texas talk) sport about the pictures. It was only after 15 or so that she finally said, okay, that's enough. She's not one to worry too much about what others are thinking. We hope she stays that way.

Koral pierced her ear! 08.13

Image
I've been waiting all my life to take my little girl to get her ears pierced! Koral didn't cry, scream, moan...she said that stings, and nothing more. Very brave. She loves her earrings...she's all girl!

Image
Koral and her cousin Brynlee (Michelle's little girl)...again, what's wrong with this picture?

Logan Utah 08.09

Image
After the Wiberg reunion we headed up to Logan Utah to hang out with Kirk's family for a couple of days. His brother Eric has a nice boat and a near by dam, with some dam fish in it, and this dam waterskier. Kirk rocked it for a while after not having skied for 15 years. He rocked it until he cracked it, a rib that is. Trying to spray he took a big fall and slammed into the ski. The pansie needed to come into the boat and took the rest of the morning off. Then he moaned about it for the next three weeks.

Image
Korbin was a daredevil and was up and going on the knee board within a couple tries. We tried the double skies but they were too big and he could keep them straight up in the water.

Image
Even Ethan had fun, although its a bit out of his nature to get crazy in the water. He and his cousin just took a nice leisurely stroll in the tube.

Image
Kirk starts them young. Our boys love to go to Oma and Opa's (Grandma and Grandpa) Derr's home because of all the great toys. Only once did a cop pull Kirk over and tell him he needed to put helmets on the boys. Kirk spends all afternoon giving rides.

Family Reunion Cont'd 08.08

Image
Grandma Wiberg (Mel's mom) with some of Koral's cousins. My big brothers family planned a great lunch for us on the lawn at the church. All the cousins were divided into four groups, and each had a specific assingment and $2 per person. One group was in charge of fruit, one sandwhiches, one drinks and chips, one deserts. The two stores in the town were only 1/2 block away so we could watch them, and each group had an older cousin. They came back with a lot of fun things and then the kids made the adults lunch.

Image
HAving a party at the Coalsville rodeo and fair! I wanted to puke just watching this.

Image
I'm sorry, but this couldn't be cuter! What a bunch of heartbreakers these three are. Can you have sex appeal at such a young age...isn't that wrong?

Image
Kirk taught them what to do when a boy comes over to them!

Mel's side family reunion 08.08

Image
Let's get ready for the pie eating contest...whoo hooo. Field looks like a few pansies and maybe one or two heavy hitters. We'll see...

Wiberg family reunion was hosted by Mels big brother Brent. Not one person was missing this year and we all met up in Coalsville where Brent lived at the time (has since moved). Some of us camped, and some of us camped in the hotel.

Image
As suspected, some did little more than push the pudding around with their noses and others inhaled. Korbin took 2nd to his much bigger cousin in the orange...but it came down to the last 10 seconds so Korbin lived up to his reputation in our home of eating like a teenager...his motto is "if you can find a bigger fork and give me bigger lips I'd shove the whole plate in at one time!"

Mom, do princesses wear beards?

Mom doesn't let these kinds of shinanigans go on at home!
