IS IT BACK?

so i has lots o projects STILL (ALWAYS), but things are moving forward with them and i think some people might be interested in reading about it.

HOWEVER a lot of these projects are not really moped related. some are kinda moped related, others are motorcycle related, others still could be be car or art or music or whatever the heck related.

this blog was supposed to be everything moped and such, however my interests have broaden a bunch. they haven’t shifted, i’m still super stoked on my mopets and your mopets (the ones that don’t suck i mean), but i’m also super stoked on not-mopets.

anyway, i won’t be using this blog any more.

IF YOU CARE TO CONTINUE READING THE SHIT I PUT ON THE INTERNET, you may do so on my old ass original wordpress blog that i have wiped clean to start over with.

terrydean.wordpress.com

the projects i started here will be carried on there, so don’t fret if you are wondering what will ever become of dirty, or if you’ll ever see ciaociao again. it’ll be over there if it’s anywhere at all.

dr fun

a couple weeks ago i went on an awesome couple hundred mile ride with fellow los dorados justin and a coworker/buddy cam. we explored a bit and found a rad camp ground. look, i took a picture of the dr there.
Image
that was a super awesome ride, even though i kept running out of gas. at best, i could get just about 60 miles to one tank before hitting reserve. the stock tank is 1 gallon plus .2 for reserve, super tiny.

so yeah, i got an acerbis 4.2 gallon tank for it.
Image
i knew i’d have to do something considering i’m doing the sheetiron 300 next month and wasn’t really keen on packing along extra fuel.
i miss the rad graphics on the stock tank, but, like i had to explain to some kids the other day, i enjoy riding the thing more than looking at it.

another complaint i had with the bike is that the $20 special fly bars that the previous owner had put on were quite low for stand up riding. with the amount of off road riding i know i’ll be doing, taller bars were pretty high on my priority list.
so yeah, i got some bars.
Image
figured if i were going to replace the bars, i might as well go with oversized aluminum. that way if/when i drop the thing in the woods/on some rocks/on the track/in the street/wtf ever, i won’t have to worry about bent bars. plus they look cool.
sorry, no pictures on the bike yet.
they are pretty tall, perhaps too tall. i just got them on tonight, so i don’t have many miles on them yet, but i do need to do some adjustments here and there for sure. also, my maier hand guard bar things don’t really fit these bars. i do have the oversized clamps for them (they in that picture, fool), but the bars them selves are completely the wrong shape. lucky they are just metal and i have torches and vices and hammers and things. i’ll get them on there tomorrow.

dr. party

two 350s and a 650. i think we going twisty street riding on monday, then doing some dirt riding the next monday. stoked!

also, moped related – new tires for dirty
Image
i’m slowly picking away at that project. one day it will be done and my love for mopeds will be renewed and it will destroy any and all other moped(s). on shitty chinese knobbies, no less.

more dr350 stuff

i replaced the rear brake pads yesterday, not that i’ll ever use them. front brake and engine braking pretty much all day, but it’s good to know i have fresh pads out back if i ever decide i need them.
also, tony at sf moto had some maier hand guards sans plastic kicking around and gave them to me free! well, i had to buy the hardware, the hardware he had was for 1″ bars, but he’s giving me an awesome deal on that since it’s been kicking around the shop for years.
Image

the clutch lever doesn’t quite fit in the loop, i’ll either cut the ball off the end or bend things around a bit. i’ll worry about that once i get the plastics for them, i’ll just leave it be in the mean time.
Image

i also re-installed the stock front fender. i like the supermoto one the previous owner installed, but riding around in the rain last night made me wish my fender wasn’t designed for a 17″ wheel. no picture of that for the moment.

no more worrying about hooking my front brake lever on a mirror next time someone tries to pinch me off while i’m splitting lanes!
