Thanksgiving

Image
Image

I know that I am super behind and I have so many things that I need to blog about! Life has been so crazy busy and so many things have happened in the last few weeks. I don't have time to blog about everything so I will just start with Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving this year we went up to my parents cabin in Island Park and we had so much fun!! We went and cut down Christmas tree's and Devin made his first turkey! We really enjoyed getting away from Logan and spending time together and with family.

Grandpa Rudd

Image

Norman George Rudd

(December 16, 1936 - October 24, 2008

Fielding-On a beautiful fall morning, Norman George Rudd, 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Fielding with his family by his side.

Norm was born December 16, 1936 to Electa and Clark Rudd at their family home in Fielding. He was the youngest of five children. In 1954, he graduated from BRHS. On September 19, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart DeeAnn Wood in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had 6 daughters. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which he enjoyed serving in many capacities. He was currently a High Priest in the Fielding Ward.

He loved farming and ranching, learning the trade along side his father and brothers. Later establishing himself as one of the hard working farmers and ranchers in the Bear River Valley. He loved sports; participating, coaching, and watching his children and grandchildren follow in his footsteps. He was a loving and supportive husband. Dad spent many years serving in the Scouting program, many of them with mom as District Cub Chairmen. He loved to see and do new things, and to travel; always taking the scenic route. But, he mostly loved to visit with his friends and family - anywhere and everywhere - he considered everyone his friend. In addition, to full time farming, he was one of the first employees at Thiokol. Starting at an entry level position and without any formal education, he worked his way up the ranks and enjoyed a successful career as a respected Manufacturing Engineer. He retired from Thiokol after 35 years.

Norm is survived by his loving wife of 53 years DeeAnn; his pride and joy of his life his 6 daughters, JoLene (David) Nielson, Susan (Doug) Lish, Kelli (Mike) Rose, Patti (Gordon) Knudsen, Marsha (Ken) Turner, and Becky Hansen. 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way, his sister LeOra Penhorwood, and brothers Oris, Evan, and Ross. Preceded in death by his parents.

I am really going to miss grandpa! He was such a great man!

Devin's Colorado Trip

Image
Image
Image
This past weekend Devin was able to go to Denver, Colorado for a trip that he won from work. He went to a Rockies game, went on a tour of the Coors Brewery and went indoor skydiving! I missed him like crazy while he was gone, but he enjoyed the trip! Here are a few pictures of the highlights!

Book Review

Image
Image
ImageI haven't written a book review for so long, so I decided that it was about time to post about a few of the books that I have read lately. I have been reading like crazy lately so I will leave some of the books out, but here are a few of the best ones!
The first one is My Sisters Keeper written by Jodi Picoult. This book was a tear jerker! I had a hard time getting into the style of this book, each chapter is written from a different characters perspective. After I got used to the writing style I really loved it!
The next of course was Breaking Dawn written by Stephenie Myer. Of course I loved this book because I love the entire series! I was expecting a little more action, but thought that she ended the book perfectly!
The last one is Artichokes Heart written by Suzanne Supplee. I thought that this book was hilarious! I really related to the main character, Rosie. I would love to see a sequel to this book!
Happy Reading!

Small update....

I know it has been forever since I last updated this thing, so I thought I would fill you in a few of the things that have been going on in our lives!
As many of you know Devin broke his ankle in July and had to have surgery. He has not been able to put any weight on his leg whatsoever and he has hated that! He had a doctors appointment yesterday and he is finally able to at least stand on it which we are both excited about! It will be probably be a couple more weeks before he can actually walk!
School started this past Monday and things are going to be hectic and crazy busy for us! This is my last semester and I am so excited to graduate. I am seriously so sick of school that I toyed with the idea of actually dropping out, but have decided to endure this final semester. My schedule is crazy!! I go to work early early everyday then leave and go to school then go back to work after school is over! Devin has a real tough school load this semester too, full of organic chemistry, physics, labs etc. etc. He is still managing the Verizon store as well, so needless to say he is super busy as well!
Obviously it wouldn't be a family update without including Lucy! As of September 2nd our little Lucy will not longer be a she! We are hoping that this will calm her down and stop the humping! (Yes girl dogs hump things too!)
We are alive and happy! If you have some free time please come and visit us in Logan! With our busy schedules it doesn't look to promising that we will be able to leave the Cache Valley for a while!!

Memories

1. Leave one memory that you and I had together, as a comment on my blog. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

This will be so much fun! I can't wait to read your memories!

PS: You can leave memories of Devin too!

Happy Anniversary!

KELLER FAMILY

ImageLook at how cute our family is! I love the Keller family and feel so fortunate to have married into such a great fun family! Every member of the family was in Price for Valerie's funeral so we had to take advantage of it and take a quick family photo!

The Host

ImageI just finished this book the other day and must say that I thought that it was incredible! It took me until about the 5th or 6th chapter to really start understanding and enjoying it, but after I endured the confusion at the first, I loved it! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Tagged!!

3 JOYS
1: I Absolutely love being with my husband! Devin is so fun to spend time with and he is absolutely hilarious. He is truly the greatest joy in my life!
2: Family! I love spending time with family, mine and Devin's both!
3: Reading! I am truly a huge nerd at heart. I love good books and the sense of accomplishment that comes with finishing a great book! If I could make money for reading, I would seriously do it all day long!

3 FEARS
1: Something happening to Devin. This is my biggest fear ever and I am actually really paranoid about it! I make sure he ALWAYS has his seat belt on and whenever he is driving for a long distance, I make him call and tell me that he is safe about every hour. I would be so devastated without him in my life!
2:Someone breaking into our house. This scares me so bad that I wake up to every little noise I hear, and I am afraid to shower while I am home alone in case someone is there when I get out. I am super paranoid!
3: Failure. I hate not doing well and hate the idea of not being successful!

3 GOALS
1: Devin and I want to get our endowments out and be sealed together for time and all eternity! 2: Graduate from Utah State! I can not wait to be done with school and just work because I love work and I hate school! December's graduation date is not coming soon enough!!
3: Have a happy and healthy family!

3 CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS
1: Decorating my house! I love making our house feel more like a home! I know, we've almost lived here a year, but decorating gets expensive so it has to be done slowly on our budget!
2: Borders! I love love going shopping at Borders! Back to my book obsession, buying new books makes me so happy! I have several books that I need to read, but Borders has a great strategy because they give me 20% off coupons every time I buy something and send me a 25% off coupon about once a week to my email! This keeps me going back because I can't let my coupons expire!
3:Cafe Rio! I love everything that I eat there and could seriously eat there every day! We try not to eat out very much, but when we do this is always my first suggestion. Poor Devin is getting sick of it!

3 RANDOM SURPRISING FACTS
1: I used to be a hard core punk rocker! I seriously used to go to every punk concert dressed in emo clothes with heavy eye make-up! Crazy how a few years will change a person! Ahh
2: I speak French!
3: I am riding in a 36 mile bike race this Saturday! I am so excited and super super nervous!

Thanks Jess for tagging me! I love ya and hope that your living it up in SUNNY CA!!

Devin and Pat actually kept score and were a little competitive, good job babe for winning! Carlie and I mostly chased our frisbee's around, threw them into tree's and buildings, and watched them roll around. It was so fun!

BuNkO

Image
Hey ladies! I have been thinking of starting a Bunko night once a month. It would cost a few dollars every month, but we would have treats and good prizes. We could all rotate who hosted it, so it isn't the same person every time. This would be super fun and give everyone a girls night every month! We need about 8-12 + ladies to make this work. So If you are in the Logan area and want to get involved please let me know and tell your friends. It will be so much fun!! Write a comment if you are interested and leave me your email address so I can give your more details.

Mothers Day

Image
In honor of Mothers Day I have decided to make a tribute to a few of the mothers that have changed my life and helped to contribute to the person that I am today.

The first mother is my own! She is absolutely incredible. I feel so lucky to have been raised by this woman! In the past year we have grown so much closer than ever before and now that I am an adult I have learned to appreciate her and love her far more than I did as a teenager. I just wish that I could have learned those things when I still lived with her. Last summer when I was in the hospital for days she stayed in my room, in a hard recliner every night that Devin couldn't be there just so that I was not alone. She painted my toenails, rubbed my feet, helped me shower, braided my hair, and helped me use the restroom. All of the things that you have to do for a young child, not your 21 year old! She never complained when she had to drive 2 hours each way every day to be with me. She is the best mom that I could ever imagine and I am so glad that she is mine! She is always looking for ways that she can help us out and gives great advice. She is so fun to hang out with too. If you have never played name that 80's tune with my mom, you should...she will smoke you all! She is so funny and easy to talk to. She is so wonderful and I am so incredibly thankful for her and everything that she does for me. If I can be half the woman and mom that she has been to us, my children will turn out great! I am so lucky to call her mom! I love her!

The next women are my aunts, Suzy and Kelli. These women are seriously second mothers to me! I admire them so much for the influence that they have had on my life. They have been by my side supporting me throughout my entire life. I can not remember games, dance reviews, speeches, graduations,or basically anything that they have missed in my life. I love going to my mom's and having them come over. They are so fun to talk to and I just absolutely love them! They were such a huge help with my wedding and my hospital stay! They are so awesome! I love you ladies! Thanks for everything!

There are so many other mothers that have loved and supported me that I am so thankful for!

Happy Mothers day to... Amy Johnson, Aunt Jolene, Aunt Marsha, Aunt Becky, Grandma Rudd, Grandma Knudsen, Joan, Colette, Jessie, Andrea, Heather, Heidi, Charmain, Celeste, Jenn Reese, and Jamie Reese.

I hope you all have a great Mothers Day, thanks for everything over the years!

Devin is 22!

Image

Image
Image
Image
Devin turned 22 on May 2nd. I know I am a little late, but I wanted to give him a birthday shout out and tell you all why I love him so much! Since he is 22, here are 22 reasons why he is the best!

1- He is so selfless! He would do anything to make sure that other people are happy!
2- He is hilarious, seriously how he comes up with the things he says is beyond me!
3- He takes great care of me. He always is making sure that I am happy and that I have everything that I need.
4- He tries to be understanding about girl stuff, like the importance of new shoes and colored hair. Even though he claims that I look the best in my old jeans and tee shirts he understands that sometimes it is important to me to try to look pretty.
5- He loves my family! I am so glad that I married a man that loves my parents. We will have questions about things or won't be able to make a decision about something and he always says, "Let's call your parents and see what they think?" and he will regularly talk or text my parents and Kim and Kori without me even around. I love it!
6- He is so silly! He is always trying to get me to wrestle or sing or do funny dances!
7- He makes me feel beautiful. (even on my worst days)
8- He has watched about every episode of America's Next Top Model with minimal complaining because he knows that I love it!
9- He colored my hair once, it turned out great, but was a hilarious process.
10- He has been with me through my entire college life, constantly encouraging me to keep going and keeping me on task with my homework.
11- He loves to cook and is great at it! It sometimes is embarrassing for me because I am an awful cook!
12- He is a great helper around the house, most of the time he cleans more often that I do! He is awesome at mopping the kitchen floor!
13- He loves the outdoors and we have so many fun memories being in the mountains or at the lake.
14- He ALWAYS takes his wedding ring off and spins it all around the counter or the floor basically any hard surface. I am just waiting for the day that he loses it and we have to buy a new one.
15- He is such a hard worker and is a great provider for us! We are so fortunate!
16- He has horrible road rage and it is so funny to drive with him. He is constantly yelling at people in the other cars like they can hear him and are like "Oh I am so sorry man in the Audi/Corolla let me speed up and I will never cut you off again! I am so sorry, have a great day!" It is so funny because he is constantly complaining and honking his horn. It used to embarrass me , but now it just makes me laugh!
17- He is super smart!
18- He isn't really into sports, but he is super athletic. He picks things up quickly and does them effortlessly.
19- He is good at realizing when he is at fault and apologizing for it. And equally great at helping me realize when I have made a mistake without being rude.
20- He tells me he loves me every time that he leaves the house or hangs up the phone. I love this because I never doubt it!
21- He always kisses me goodbye or hello!
22- He is seriously the greatest husband that I can ever imagine! I am so grateful that he is mine!

Dev I love you!

Lame I know...

Image
Image I know that I am lame, but seriously I do not really have much else to blog about. So... here are the books that I have read the past month. For anyone wondering I have (for the first time in my life) been keeping up with my new years resolution to read one book every month this year!
In April I read Beautiful Boy by David Sheff. This was a good book, but it took a while to get into. I found it very interesting and super sad. I also read Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella. This book was hilarious! I would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy fun read!

What is new at our place.....

I have not posted anything for a while, and I told my friend Erica that I would be better at posting more often so here is a random post!
There really has not been much going on new at our house! We will be done with this semester on May 1st! Something that we are both really looking forward to! We can not wait! Unfortunately we both will be doing summer school. Dev has to take a few classes and I am fortunate enough to be able to do an internship at Best Buy. My boss T.J. has got me really excited about helping him with sponsorships and community outreach for the summer! I think that it will be a great opportunity and I already go to work everyday, so I might as well get school credit too right!?!?
After this semester I only have one more and then I will have my bachelor's in Public Relations! I can not wait to graduate! It is a great feeling being so close!
Dev has changed his major to Industrial Hygiene, and he is way excited about it! He finally found something that combines everything that he enjoys, engineering, chemistry, and health. I am excited for him to graduate in 2 years! It won't come fast enough!
Our little Lucy has been so fun, but for sure a handful! I had no idea how much dogs are just like kids! Wow! She is adorable though and super playful!
That is about it! We get bored sometimes though and feel like we have nothing to do, so if you get bored too, come and play with us!

BEST BUY BOWLING

This was seriously forever ago, but I never posted about it! We had a fundraiser for work, and we all got to go bowling for free! It was a lot of fun! I love my co-workers and I seriously have the best boss (Amy) ever!! I feel so fortunate to actually enjoy my job, well most days when customers aren't throwing random electronics at us or having major temper tantrums! Doesn't Devin look enthused in this picture!

A NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY.......

ImageDevin and I added a new addition to our family! This adorable little Imperial Shih Tzu! We named her LUCY and we absolutely love her so far! We got her Monday night and we have played with her non stop! She is the best puppy ever! She does not bark, shed, chew on things, or make "Messes" on the carpet! She is only ten weeks old and she is so well behaved! She is perfect for us and we are so excited that we have her! All night last night Devin kept waking up wanting to check on her to make sure she was alright! (He is going to be such an incredible daddy) She is great and we just love her!

Easter

Image
Easter was such a blast this year! We had Easter breakfast with the Knudsen family in St. George! Then we decided to head to price. We saw several members of the Keller family and really enjoyed catching up! They are so fun to talk with and it feels like we never see them enough! We got to see Ryan and Heidi's new addition Anna, all the way from Arizona and she is so adorable! We got this adorable picture of our niece Katie! Isn't she cute?!?! After spending time at the Keller house we went to the Ellis apartment and saw Kara and Jeremy! It had been way too long since we had seen this cute couple and we really enjoyed spending a couple of hours with them! They are so fun and their new place is so cute! I hope everyone had a very happy Easter!

St. George

Image
Devin and I spent a long weekend in St. George. We had such a great time! We left Wednesday night and loved every minute of it! My little sister Kim had a softball tournament and it was fun to be able to watch her play! She rocks! She is only a Sophomore, but she starts Varsity and rocks it! We love her so much and are so proud of her! We had a blast hanging out with our family in the warm weather! Not only did my parents and Kim and Kori go, but Aunt Suzy and Willie were there and Aunt Kelli and Jess and Jordan! Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen even made it down! It was so fun! Thanks everyone for a super fun weekend!

Read Read Read

Image
After I finished the Twilight Series I read this book. Ana's Story By Jenna Bush. It was such a great book. It is about a young girl who was born with HIV. It is a great story and made me very grateful to have grown up with parents who were supportive! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good book, and it is a very easy read (there are even pictures on every other page).

TEXAS

Devin and I have been planning on going to Dallas, Texas this summer so Devin could try his hand in security sells. We were excited for this new adventure in our lives, but we have decided to stay home in Logan.

There are many factors playing into this big decision. Some of them include.... Health Insurance, after everything that happened to me last summer I am now high risk for health insurance which means, unless I am on a group insurance plan I am not able to get coverage for less than about $500 a month! So it would be hard to leave Devin's job with benefits.

Devin has decided to change his major to Industrial Hygiene. This is a perfect fit for him and will lead him nicely to pharmacy school, but because of this change he will need to take summer classes to get caught up!

There are so many other little factors, and after much praying and deliberation we have decided to stay.

We feel bad that we missed out on our turn to plan the Keller family reunion, and since Celeste has it already planned we will for sure take our turn next year!

This is bittersweet since we were looking forward to going and having a new adventure, but we are very excited to be able to spend the summer with family!

Karaoke Party

Image
Image
Image
Devin and I went to a karaoke party a few weeks ago with some of our friends! We just got the pictures and you can tell we had a blast! Devin sang a couple of songs and the crowd loved him! Here are the best pictures!
