Image Layers is one of my favorite stores. Whenever I am in Utah I always go on a huge shopping spree, much to Tyler's dismay. Anyway, they are having a huge sale right now, I'm hoping I can talk Ty into letting me slurge a little. Anyway, check out their site, they have the cutest dresses on sale... www.layersclothing.com

Palm Springs Weekend

This past weekend Tyler and I went to Palm Springs with our friends Resh and Lindsey. We had a lot of fun and made the most of our short time there. We spent the afternoon touring a few million dollar homes and then took an amazing tram ride up the mountain. While the tram moves up the mountain the floor rotates so you're about to get an amazing 360 view of the whole area, it was amazing. Image

Happy Valentine's Day

Tyler and I wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! I just love this holiday! I think it is a great time to tell all your family and friends how much you love them. Today Tyler and I are going out to breakfast and then going to the Newport Temple. We haven't been there yet, so we're really excited about that. Tonight were going to dinner and a movie (probably Shopaholic). I'm excited to spend the entire day with Tyler, that is the best present of all!

Movie Reviews

Bride Wars: I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. I’m not a huge Anne Hathaway fan so I wasn’t super excited to see this movie. But, I actually ended up loving it. It was cute, clean and fun. Anne was actually pretty good in it and she kind of went up a few notches in my book. I always love Kate Hudson and thought she was great (as usual) in this movie. I really liked the story idea and is definitely worth seeing and buying! (Rated PG)

ImageNew In Town: I loved this movie! It was also very cute, clean and fun. Tyler and I use to live in North Dakota and spent a lot of time in Minnesota, so watching this movie brought back a lot of great memories. I’m sure some will say that the story is old or predictable, but to me it was still enjoyable. The relationships were fun and personally I thought that “Blanche” stole the show. Another one I will be purchasing as soon as it comes to DVD. (Rated PG)

Image The Express: Wow! This movie was based on the life of Ernie Davis, the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy. Ernie was an amazing person and accomplished a lot in his young life. I love sport movies and how motivational they are. One of my favorite scenes was when the Varsity team lost a game and were having to do a midnight workout Ernie shows up (even though he isn’t on varsity yet) and trains with his team when he didn’t need to be there. I totally recommend this movie to everyone, he lived an amazing life and is truly a great role model. (Rated PG)

City of Ember: I hadn’t really planned on watching this movie. Since it was based on a book I had wanted to read the book first. But, it showed up from Blockbuster so I decided to watch it the other night while Tyler was on duty. The movie was actually pretty good, the story was original and a lot of fun. I think there are at least 3 books in the series so I look forward to the other seeing the other movies and what happens with all the characters. (Rated PG)

He’s Just Not Into You: Tyler surprised me tonight and brought me to see this movie. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I thought all the Ladies in the movie were fantastic and enjoyed all the different story lines. The writing was great and both Tyler and I were impressed with it. My only complaint is a few token “gay” elements and also a bit of language. There really was no reason why they couldn’t have made this a PG movie and still had a huge hit. Anyway, it was a fun movie and one that I think guys would probably like as well. (Rated PG-13)

ImageSo, those are just a few of the movies that I have seen recently. If you’ll notice almost all of them were PG, which goes to show you that you can make a great movie and still have a pretty decent rating. I really wish Hollywood would put their creative caps on and produce more PG movies. It shows real creativity when you can produce clean comedy vs. crude comedy!

I Won!!

I just won Tetris! I really didn't think it was possible, but I did it! Tetris is probably my favorite computer game ever. Recently we downloaded Tetris to our Wii. Tyler and I love playing team Tetris and after we played a few rounds tonight I decided to play one quick round by myself. I guess tonight was my lucky night because I won! I suppose this post will show what a nerd I am, but I am so excited I just had to let everyone know! Although, Ty claims to be a better Tetris player, he has never won! lol

Saturday Field Trips

Tyler loves to plan fun Saturday activities for us. This past Saturday we decided to visit the San Diego Air and Space Museum at Balboa Park. We've been wanting to go there for a long time and after a year we finally made it. We were pleastantly surprised, it was a small but fun museum. My favorite part was a display they had of Bonnie & Clyde (I'm still not sure why that was in an Air and Space Museum...). They had the actual car that they died in, it had SO many bullet holes. I read that when they pulled their bodies from the car they each had over 50 bullet wounds. Sorry, that was probably "too much information".

After the A & S Museum we went down to the harbor and went on a tour of the Tall Ships. It was a fun "surprise" to learn that one of the ships had been made for the movie Master & Commander...the H.M.S. Surprise! It was fun to actually spend time where Russell Crowe made a movie. After touring the ships we went to Old Towne where they were having a celebration for the arrival of the Mormon Battalion. Every year the LDS Church puts on a fair to celebrate when the Mormon Battalion entered San Diego. We actually ran into some old friends from Virginia while we were there, so that was a lot of fun.
