Moving!!..and a pregnancy update:)

Recently, as we've been trying to get the baby room ready for little Porter, we've realized that we don't have nearly enough room for baby and all of our winter gear/tools/sports paraphenilia etc. Luckily we found an amazing apartment in our complex ....not too much hassle for a move thank goodness! It's 3 bed 2 bath and MUCH more storage! Yay! It's also a bran-spanking new apartment..just built! Whoo! I love the new apartment scent:)

We are hoping to move in later this month or even better this week but need to sell our contract first..otherwise we have to wait another 3 weeks:( Ah....patience is tough when you want to start decorating for christmas NOW!

As of now I am 33 1/2 weeks pregnant and REALLY POPPIN!! Dang! I swear over night the baby grew 3 lbs. It's so exciting thinking about how close I am to my due date! Just about 6-7 more weeks! I'm constantly thirsty and hot. And more recently I have xperienced pretty severe heartburn. I seriously thought I was dying...never experienced that before. Yikes! Deven's been such a sweetheart helping me out and cleaning up when I'm feeling drained. LOVE MY MAN!

coming up on 6 months!

I am so stoked! I can't believe we've been married (almost) 6 months now! We've grown and changed a lot since the big wedding day. Many of those changes coming from pregnancy on my part..but we're loving life:) Can't wait for our little baby Porter to come into our lives. I've been so anxious to start buying some baby clothes and accessories since my second month of pregnancy but I'm trying to be patient and wait until the baby shower has passed.

Deven and I will be starting school again next Thursday and we are both very excited to get back into the flow of things with our school schedules. And yay...we are taking a religion class together! :) This will help out a ton with F.H.E.:) And I have heard nothing but THE ULTIMATE BEST about the professor we're taking..he seems to be the most exciting and enthusiastic about the class.

Deven is also now starting a new job as a psych tech which he is pretty excited for..the hours work around his school schedule perfectly!!.. and I've just begun to take time off of work...due to our most recent vacation in 107-109 degree whether..i swelled up like a balloon and now have to keep my feet up and have a strict diet of almost no sodium. Hoping to be back in soon..i feel so helpless and lazy not working.

Pickin out a name...

So after much thought, Deven and I both fell in love with the name Porter Scott...the initials made me want to give our little boy a different middle name, either that or two of em...but this one is good enough. Although Porter is what we are sticking with now, it may change once we see our little bundle of joy when he arrives!

First kicks and discovering our little peanut's gender..

Worrying for weeks whether or not my baby was still alive Deven and I FINALLY felt it's first few kicks right after my appointment with WIC on August 20th around 3:50pm! Deven thought i made my tummy move but then realized the movement was more concentrated. We were both SOO excited!!

A few days later, Deven and I left for our week long vacation away from home..visiting Las Vegas and California with my parents and siblings, we came home to finally discover the gender of our baby...we're having a boy! September 2nd came along much too slowly for me. The small ultrasound room was packed! There were only 6 of us in there...but still..the room was TINY! There was no question on the gender though...heehee..and we were excited to hear our baby is strong and healthy and at this point weighs 1 lb 2oz. About 8 inches long! WHOOO!

I'm beginning to wonder if the year 2009/2010 is the year of males... of all the 6 friends/family of mine also expecting...none are expecting a baby girl...crazy!

baby names!!

Ok....so it was about a month ago now..I was getting really excited about baby names..so i spent 4 hours of my day online looking at several HUNDREDS of em. I made a list of a few I'd liked but they all happened to be girl names..I really was desperate for boy names (just in case). Deven walked in the door at the perfect moment. I wanted a second opinion and a list of a few good boy names. Of course I came to the wrong person ...ironically. Deven is all sarcasm on most days so i shouldn't have expected a serious or good list of names. He looks to the side for a moment....appearing as if he was "seriously" pondering my question..then he turns back to me...
"Ok, i've got it..are you ready?"
"yeah! go for it"
"Alright, Grackus, Butch and Tank"

Thanks babe..appreciate the effort. Since then I have decided to do the baby name creativity myself...so far i've come up with:
Girls:
Chloe, kenley and brooklyn

Boys:
Braden, and Conner

let me know if there are any names you like! I am completely open for more opinions.

Belated Father's and Mother's Day Post...

So this year Deven and I decided it was appropriate to celebrate Mother's and Father's day seeing how we're now expecting..:) For mother's day..Deven surprised me with a gift card to Motherhood Maternity which was all spent right away..i wasn't feeling comfortable after eating meals...i felt like i needed to unbutton my pants because my stomach hurt so much. We had a fun shopping spree though...I would try TONS of clothes on while Deven sat on the chair outside the dressing room...maybe it was just me that enjoyed the trip because after about 5 minutes of waiting..he decided to get my ring cleaned just a few shops away at Jensen's Jewelery store.

For Father's day...well first of all..it ended up being about a week before Father's day. ( We both thought Fathers day was the Sunday prior to the actual holiday) Lucky Boy..he got his sweet gift a week early. I was deciding what i should get for him and i knew he wouldn't want a cute crib...so i was deciding between a tent or a gun. Both seemed like good choices to me. I went into work with both gifts ideas in mind and asked my managers...they looked at me as if i just asked them the most pointless question. "DUH! A gun of course!" "What man would choose a tent over a gun?" haha...(I would've rather had a tent in the home.) So they made up my mind for me and I bought him a stainless steel Ruger Pistol..a week and a day before father's day. He loved it of course...couldn't stop looking at it for about 4 hours...haha i enjoyed the look of fascination and excitement on his face though. It was a priceless moment.

Pregnancy Update...

I am now 15 weeks along in my pregnancy and have about 6 more weeks before we find out the gender of our baby:)!! The stomach pains and nausea are gone for the most part but I am now beginning to experience migranes...and most of them last an average of 4 to 5 hours. Although the longest one on record lasted 8 long "enjoyable" hours. I was having the hardest time sleeping that night but Deven was so sweet and he kept massaging my temples and my neck...trying to help in some way. Oh Deven I love you!

Summertime!

We just arrived home Wednesday last week after an AMAZING honeymoon cruise to Mexico, then a night in Laguna Beach, CA with my great aunt and uncle and mom. California almost had us both convinced to retire there..it was so warm and sunny, not to mention the beautiful beaches!! We then flew with my mom to Washington and stayed a couple of nights at my parents home and celebrated with friends, family and ward members at our second open house. Funny story though..while at the airport on our way to Washinton, Deven was stuck at the baggage place and a security guard was called over to check his baggage...after going through everything in his backpack, the sec. guard decided that the turtle in Deven's bag that we had bought in Mazatlan was in fact WOODEN!! ..not a real live turtle. Seriously though? "Yeah, we just couldn't leave without bringing our beloved pet turtle with us." Definately counted in our memories though of our honeymoon trip. We really enjoyed our time out there and are hoping to visit the family again this summer.

Hey Wer're Married!!!

Yeah you read the title right. We are actually married. I never thought I would see the day! Life is so much better being married than it ever was being single. Two people with the same goals and the same views in life sharing together the responsibility of decorating a barren apartment into a home, learning to sleep in the same bed as someone else, and sharing everything from a parking spot to a washer and dryer. It is wonderful and up until now no problems. Thanks everyone who contributed so much to our wedding and reception, and also thanks to those who provided gifts, they really helped organize our lives in our first week as a married couple.

Counting Down...

We've got one week as of today!! I've been hearing that the final week goes by so fast but the days just seem to drag on...Deven and I are both so excited for the upcoming events of this week...all of the last minute preparations and the actual wedding day! Things have been coming together wonderfully thanks to our mom's for so much of their time and efforts. We can't wait!!

Disney Addict!

So lately I've been ADDICTED to Disney movies! Not too sure if the reason is due to Horkley's renting free disney movies anytime or if I just can't seem to grow out of em. Tonight my roomies and I are having a disney party with "Oliver and Company"..we're all pretty stoked for the event:)

10 days!

Ahh we've got only 10 days left until the Wedding! I still can't really fathom the idea of being married. I've learned from roommates and friends that after March 13th roles around..i'll be considered "dead"...apparently once people get hitched they lose touch with their single friends. Deven and I are pretty cool people though..i'm sure it won't happen! No worries!! :) I'll still be alive and in touch with buds.
