Yay! It's a .....

Friday evening, after socializing and snacking with some GOOD company, Deven, with Porter's help, cut through the cake only to discover....it's ANOTHER BOY! YAY! We are so thrilled! Only downside, we had a for sure girl name picked out and not really any boy names. But, I get to adore another little boy! And of course I will be adoring him in Porter's infant clothing:) :) :)! We couldn't be happier. Yes, we were ALL shocked because my mom had acted as if she gave away the gender by 'accidentally' mentioning the word 'she' when referring to the baby just before we cut through the cake.

Thanksgiving in Idaho!

For Thanksgiving this year, Deven was able to take off 8 days of work so we could fly to Idaho!! I have missed it SO much! I was shocked when we arrived though....roads, rooftops, lawns etc. were DRY! No SNOW!:( It was a bit sad actually because I was hoping to make snow angels and build snowmen with Deven and Porter. But, we made it safely which is all that really matters.

Thank you Vaughn and Rhonda for picking us up from SALT LAKE....then driving us to BOISE to fly back home!

Thanksgiving dinner was delicious as expected, and the company was wonderful as well. We were able to see a lot of family and friends while on our little vacation, and both Deven and I were able to catch up on sleep throughout the entire trip.

After 7 months of having been away from Idaho, Porter remembered Grandma and Papa Munns' home VERY well. Great memory bud! He absolutely LOVED it there....he never wanted to stay downstairs with mom and daddy...he was always upstairs visiting with Grandma, Papa and aunt Gina.

We were able to watch the Forgotten Carols again this year just before leaving for the airport, and, as always, it was a great show! Thank you for everything grandma and papa munns for having us over and treating us to...well, lots!! Love you all!

Boy or Girl?!

This morning we had the 21 week 3 day ultrasound to see our little baby and check up on his OR her?? health. So far so good! The lab technician, Mary Jo, told us that everything looks great. The baby is SOOO beautiful!

We got a great big yawn, followed by a sweet smile, then wiggling fingers on the right hand. SOOO sweet! The doctor says the middle toe is longer, which she then told us was a sign of intelligence...Deven has the intelligent 'long middle toes' as well!! Yay for another brilliant baby!!

It was such an incredible blessing to be able to watch our little one move around. We told the tech in the beginning that we didn't want to know the gender so we had her warn us before showing that area...BUT, my mom watched so she could make the 'gender cake' at our 'coming out' party tomorrow evening!! We find out tomorrow!!!! YES!!! SO excited!! Everyone is guessing that this one will be a girl, well....we'll just have to wait til tomorrow night!

Happy Labor Day!

Labor day.....yay for FAMILY time!!

Today Porter got yet ANOTHER new pair of shoes....of his 4 pairs at home the ONLY pair that fits him are his Crocs from Gramma...so he is squeekin' again! And I can see the BIGGEST change in him when he wears these shoes as opposed to the other 3 pair that are getting a but tight and uncomfortable. Yay for a happy little boy!

I was looking at ohdeedoh.com today and found the CUTEST book shelves that hang on the wall...i want i want i want! I NEEEEEEEED! I have been looking at Porter's pile of stacked books (looks VERY unorganized) and also his small bookshelf FULL of books and decided we needed a little something more...so...what do you think??

I am simply in love with the idea! Deven said he could put that together in a Jiffy! Thank goodness for a crafty husband! Love you hun!!

Little Conversationalist...

Porter just picked up the home phone (while it was beeping), held it to his ear then started to laugh and talk into the mouthpiece as if someone highly comical and entertaining were on the other end:) LOVE it!!

(Most times he won't speak to whoever is on the phone wanting to hear his voice)

He then had a very deep conversation with the operator.

Porter will do THE most DARNDEST things!

Yesterday was the beginning of a whole new series of Porter habits at the Munns' home...

Since we moved in, Porter has this strange fascination with my parents' dog Rylee. She TOLERATES him to say the most but he absolutely LOVES following her around and yesterday he was DETERMINED to catch a ride on the "ho-sey." He chased her around for about 5 to 10 minutes with his arms outstretched trying to grab a hold of her and hop on....he would scream each time she stepped further and further out of his reach...poor pup..;)

Porter also has a fascination with Rylee's dog water/food. He started out by putting her dog food in her water bowl (this was DAILY might I add...) which would of course have her going to the toilet bowl for her water source until she had new water in her bowl. But yesterday, an even more disturbing habit surfaced....I heard him in the room with the dog food/water so I ran in, only to find him crouched over her water bowl....SLURPING the water out of the bowl!! SICK! What do i do?!? ( Today he changed from slurping to licking....)

Last little Porter excitement for the day....he took his little sit-on riding truck and was just an inch from going full force down the STAIRS!! AGH!!

Kids say the darndest things...

So this past weekend I was able to take in quite a bit of Isaac's entertaining personality. Sadly, he knew everyone's name but mine...although he assured me several times that he knew it but quickly changed the subject when I asked him what it was. While we were all eating out at a seafood restaurant I ask him my name (about the 4th time now in the last 5 min) and Isaac says to me: "I said it at home, not lets not say it again!"

Touchdown!!

During church a few weeks ago while someone was being sustained, after about the third hand went up, Porter stands up and with both hands raised in the air, yells TOUCHDOWN!! HAHA! Whew! The families next to, in front of, and directly behind us found it pretty comical to say the least...

Forgetful...

So I FINALLY was able to REMEMBER the password to my blog! Yay, I'm back! It's been driving me nuts for the past month or so. As of late, MANY changes have come about...let me tell you about em;)

After applying to (possibly far over 10,000) different jobs, Deven scored an interview with CBRE and is currently their NEWEST EMPLOYEE!!!(Thanks to Shandi for the recommendation!!) He was so stoked when he found out he got the job. Shortly after his interview, he got a phone call saying he was one of the top to 'candidates' for the job after all the interviews had finished. Then about a week or two later they called him in the morning telling him when he would start:) I couldn't be more excited for him.

On another note, I have started working part-time as a BALLOON TWISTER and FACE PAINTER! WHOOP WHOOP!! It's been SOO much fun! What makes it even better is that I have the beautiful opportunity to twist and paint with my good friend Tanya. I'm sure her company makes it all the more entertaining. We can both be such goofs when we're together....but still remain very professional of course ;o) Yes, I am working for a clown...and NO I will not pursue a career as a clown, I simply just twist balloons and paint faces. Hahaha..(bet you were curious though Huh??)

Porter is doing GREAT and has a new-found love for trains, trikes, any sort of ball, cars, his Papa and books, playing outside, going on walks walks with mom and daddy...

He now recognizes and points to his nose, eyes, mouth, teeth, ears, head, hat, fingers, toes, feet, hands, shoes, socks, and so many more things. He has added MANY more words to his ever-growing vocabulary as well...

Yesterday we returned from our AMAZING weekend stay with Deven's brother Derik and his beautiful family in Salem, OR. We went to celebrate our nephew, Isaac's 4th Birthday. Porter had SOO much fun playing with his cousins, aunt Kelly and uncle Derik and of course, maa-ma and papa Munns:) Isaac was too funny, I was told by Derik and Kelly that on Friday morning (we had not arrived until Fri night) Isaac didn't want it to be his birthday and was so upset that he erased Kelly's "Happy 4th Birthday Issac" message on the blackboard and yelled at everyone after they sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Too cute! Isaac enjoyed the anticipation of the coming birthday more than the birthDAY because then he would have to wait another 365 days until his next one. SMART BOY! Thanks Derik and Kelly for such a FUN stay!

A small note can go a long way and make quite a deep impression on the heart. I absolutely LOVE the people around here. There are so many sweet, genuine people in this community and I am so excited to be a part of it for the summertime:) More to come...

Deven has an internship AND a part-time JOB!!

YAY! Success! For the past few weeks, Deven has been applying for 30+ internships a day online and has finally found success!! yay! And a part-time job! We feel so SO blessed:) Deven is definitely happier to be working and feeling productive. He's been doing small jobs around my parents house trying to stay busy (which they greatly appreciate) but now he is off and working:)

Deven turns 26!!

For Deven's 26th Birthday I was planning on taking him to a Broadway show in Vegas because I assumed we would still be there. Since we've arrived in Washington I've been brainstormin' like a mad woman trying to come up with something fun, inexpensive and creative. What we ended up doing actually turned out to be the perfect fun-filled, eventful day:) GO JENN!

Deven and I woke up that morning to my mom and a BIG box wrapped in 'happy birthday' gift wrap. The gift inside was COMPLETELY unexpected but definitely enjoyable:) Thanks MOM!

This basketball hoop is something that he had wanted as a small boy but his parents said 'no' because he was pretty close to being too old for it and would quickly grow out of it....well, they were probably right...but apparently my mom doesn't agree. haha....I guess she was thinking about father-son activities when she bought it:)

After shooting some hoops with Porter, we got ready and started off in the afternoon with a lovely family bike ride along the Tacoma waterfront on their VERY POPULAR boardwalk:) LOVED IT! The temperature was in the upper 60's and the sun was shining throughout the entire day...so SO beautiful! I couldn't have asked for better weather. Afterwards we met up with my mom to drop off Porter, went to lunch, then hit up the batting cages. 'no pun intended'

I had planned to take him to Famous Dave's for dinner but instead my parents wanted to treat us so we waited until the next day. MMMMmmm! BOY, it was GOOD! You sure can't beat a meal served on a trash can lid now can you?

OH! And for his REAL gift....I am planning to take him paintballin' tomorrow:)

We Miss YOU!

These past few weeks, Porter and I have been CRAVING a playdate with sweet Sadie baby! Miss you Haley n Sadie!!!

On another note, Deven arrived SAFELY this morning in Seattle:) !! BIG PLEASANT surprise to me:) I wasn't expecting him until noon! Hoping to unpack the car and have everything in it's place in our 'new home' before he wakes up...he has gotten maybe 2 hours of sleep in the past couple of days. Awww:( Love you hun!!

'Smooth' Transitions?

In the last 4 weeks Deven and I have moved from Idaho to Washington...Wa to Vegas, Vegas to California...California to Washington. Whew!! After a wonderful mother's day weekend in California with my mom, sister, Great Grandma, Great Aunt and of course the handsome man I am blessed to have as a husband and my just as handsome baby boy Porter....we are FINALLY 'Settled?' in Washington! Oh boy!

Good Morning!

Porter, knowing that he can't communicate well through words to mom and dad, he likes to be rather blunt in other (creative) ways when he wants to send a message to us. For example, this morning Porter comes and sits his VERY full wet diaper on my face as I am just waking up. Delightful.

Living near Las Vegas is INCREDIBLE! Deven, Porter and I went to In 'n Out for dinner with the guys and it was so strange that at 8:40pm I was able to take Porter outside with nothin' but shorts and a T...and of course his diaper, socks and lil. SQUEEKERS!! P.S. EVERYONE LOVES THOSE SHOES!!! I get stopped everywhere I go and I hear at least 3 or 4 times in ONE store, "you'll never lose him!" hahaha, it's true, but I'm getting tired of smiling and pretending I haven't heard it before..haha, but I will keep pretending...bring on the repetitive comments! :) lol! We are only a few minutes from HOBBY LOBBY! and ROSS! and TARGET! and a mall!! Oh boy....I need to start building me up some WILL POWER!!

Week in Washington = REJUVINATING! Strangely enough, I've actually missed the RAIN! There is something about a bright sunny day after the rain...it makes that day even more enjoyable (ha! Because you know it's only a matter of hours before it rains again!)hahaha! Deven and I have tried to make a daily habit of walking my parents pup Rylee...boy has she enjoyed it! She would actually start to expect it come 4pm...she'd wait by the door expectantly...so impatient but cute nonetheless. Jeremy and Whitney Mitchell!! These two lovebirds I've known since PRIMARY! Now they are happily married and off to school..again. WISH YOU TWO THE BEST OF LUCK IN YOUR LIFE TOGETHER! Love you guys! Porter is FINALLY better:) He hasn't thrown up since Wednesday but he's been so fussy, lethargic and clingy up until this morning..yay for good health! FAMILIA! Last night I was able to visit with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents:) I LOVED IT!! I've really missed conversing with everyone and simply enjoying their company and fun personalities:) LOVE YOU ALL! And Deven, Thank you! I know it's just killing you being on vacation from work...(he feels unproductive) :( You're a trooper! Work is coming soon! :) LOVE YOU!

No Puppy No!

We're HERE!! We just arrived in Seattle! After Deven's graduation commencement on Saturday morning we had lunch with our amazing family at texas roadhouse (my fav) then rushed h0me to pack and clean our apt. At 2:00 a.m., we headed over to Deven's parents to stay the night and were on our way to Seattle at 11 this morning. I have forgotten how mentally stressing it is to move!! AGH! I was so close to punching a hole through the wall...ok, not really but you can imagine my stress right? Yeah....I'm NEVER accumulating ANYTHING EVER AGAIN! haha...now let's watch me NOT go by this hope in the next 24 hours. We now have a fully packed car with everything the THREE of us need for the next 6 months...whew!! WISH US LUCK! WE WILL MISS YOU REXBURG! Not really! Just those of you who we've been blessed to have known and spend time with that live there....:)

Italian MUCH?

Lately Porter has become more and MORE talkative...well, in HIS language...if you've seen the video on Youtube of the set of twins "talking" to each other, you can kind of imagine what I'm describing...but he uses his hands when he talks....looks like a lil Italian is what Grandpa Terry says...and boy is he VOICETEROUS! (sp? yeah i know...jenn go back to jr. high) He is such a hoot!

He loves WHOLE milk:) YAY for fat n calories!

CRAVES the outdoors...if anyone is getting ready to go outside (puts on coat/hat etc.) he'll reach for them and act like he wants them to hold him and once they walk away from the door he wants down again...)

77th percentile for his height and 38th for his weight...he keeps getting sick:( This last time we had to get a nebulizer to regulate his breathing..what a scare!

Yesterday at his Doc. appt the nurse pointed out that he had a new moler that had just grown in! I didn't even know!

He is just an all around fun, handsome lil guy:) And I can't wait to FINALLY bring him outdoors this summer and to the pool 5 days a week in VA!! YAY for Summer and nice weather!

7 years of HARD work finally paid off! :)

Deven Munns--GRADUATE of Brigham Young University- Idaho!!! Yay! Deven graduated tonight! I am so proud of my handsome scholar:) He now has completed his BACHELORS degree in ECONOMICS!! WHOOP WHOOP!! Let me tell ya, he was pretty excited! President Clark and Elder Snow spoke at his graduation tonight and it was such a beautiful ceremony:) We headed out to Gringo's Mexican Restaurant afterwards to celebrate with some good yummy food:) Now, PACKING TIME! We've got 24 hours to be completely packed (3 of us in 1 car for 6+ months time)....let's see how this goes...I'll give you an update soon enough:)

Two years!

Yesterday, Deven and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary because we couldn't really go out today (Sunday) and do much. We started the day off by driving to Wyoming and going snowboarding at the Grand Targhee!! Yay!! I haven't gone in two years and it's been a year for Deven so we were both stoked...I got whiplash a couple of times so I only was able to do four runs (my neck is killin today) :( Afterwards, Rhonda met up with us (thanks soooo much!) in Tetonia so we could bring Porter with us to JACKSON HOLE!! I've NEVER been and boy is it the most breathtaking place I've ever experienced!! Beautiful, majestic mountains and I absolutely LOVE the look of all the shops in town...WONDERFUL experience! We got there kind of late so we ended up going into a few shops then taking Porter swimming at this most amazing swimming pool! There were two fun slides (we took Porter down the smaller one) which led into the kiddie pool..Porter LOVED going swimming. It was enjoyable watching him laugh, giggle and have a CONSTANT smile on his face:) I am so grateful to have such a beautiful family...Deven I LOVE you SO so much and can't wait to spend an eternity with you!

Arrival of a sweet little gentleman..

Just wanted to give a shout out to Beth and Chance on their newest arrival Ian Chance! Can't wait to meet my little nephew..he looks so sweet in his picture! Love you all!

HELLO WORLD!

I am SO SOO stoked! For those of you who don't know ( I am very bad at calling people when something big comes up) we are moving our little family to DC! NEXT MONTH!! APRIL!! WHOO!! I can't wait! At first I was pretty against the idea because it's not just a change but a BIG BIG change and that scared me. I was nervous about being a FEW DAYS journey away from either of our parents' homes or any family whatsoever. BUT NOW YAY! CAN'T WAIT! We will actually be in Fairfax, VA...it's about 20 to 30 minutes away from DC and so far this is only a temporary move...6 months at most. If we like it much and if Deven is able to land a good job, it may become our permanent nesting grounds for a while.


Although, the packing is starting to get on our nerves.
