Jayden's grade made a tree for the Festival of Trees. There theme was "Duck for President." They also got to sing a few songs for everyone there. What a fun experience for him!

Thanksgiving Pies
Devon's family has a tradition of the boys making the pies for Thanksgiving. Most years the men and boys go to Grandpa's house to make pies with him. Dylan and Jayden went this year, but Ethan didn't want to because he didn't want to touch the gluten (that's his words). I did make some cream pies for him, which I think he appreciated, even if he never ate even a quarter of the four mini pies I made.
Human Race
Thanksgiving Day we ran the Human Race 5K with Rachel and David, and my friend Deyse. I got a personal best, so I was excited. I ran just under 27 minutes! I feel pretty good about that, especially since I thought I was going to go much slower.

Goooo Cougars!
We are so spoiled and get to go to just about every single home BYU football game. I love going, and its awesome I get to go with my husband, his family, and even sometimes some of my boys. Were there, through rain, snow, and cold, as well as those awesome perfect weather games with some sunshine. Go Cougs!
Dylan decided this season that he must be good luck for the Cougars. Every game he went to, they won.

Reflections: Magic of a Moment
Dylan really wanted to participate in reflections this year, and decided he wanted to take a picture of the red tailed hawks that live near our house. We always seem to see them soaring in the air, and he hoped to capture that on the camera. Of course, every time we went to take a photo, they were either too high in the sky, or not in sight at all. The weekend before Reflections was due, we were taking a drive in the mountains, and saw this deer. We had Dylan snap a few pictures, and this is what he chose to use. I showed him how to edit the pictures to make the colors brighter, and he played around till he got the picture to look like this.

Happy Halloween
The annual pumpkin carving went great! I found a kit that had the little knives that are supposed to make it easier. I've always thought about buying them, but haven't. I saw one this year at Walmart and decided to grab it. I didn't realize it came with some patterns to cut the pumpkins with. I love the way they turned out!
The added bonus of the little knives was that they were something Dylan and Jayden could use. Dylan did his carving completely on his own. Jayden did a large amount of his, but needed some help to finish up.
The boys were so happy to go trick or treating at Daddy's work. Last year we missed out because Daddy was gone for Halloween - such a bummer! Everyone had a great time. Lauren really loved the suckers!
I was able to help in Jayden and Ethan's class parties. Here is Jayden with two buddies.
And here is Ethan's class party. They painted pumpkins, which suprised me. Its such a cute idea, but I was so worried someone's costume would get ruined. I'm hoping everyone's costumes survived!
And of course there were the parades:
We tried to get a nice shot of everyone, but Lauren didn't really want to:
This is a common face we see. She makes it when she is mad, and sometimes she just makes it to be silly. Here she wasn't so happy we were trying to get her to stand still.
Halloween night was BEAUTIFUL! We couldn't have asked for nicer weather. Once it got dark, the boys needed a jacket or shirt underneath their jerseys, but while it was light it was perfect! Lauren was so funny! She would go up to the door to get a treat, then turn around with a bounce in her step and a squeal of happiness as she put each candy into her bucket.
And... the kids all got lots of candy!
