March

March was a busy whirlwind of birthdays, birthday parties, St. Patrick's Day, and surviving school and the day to day life.  Soccer started back up for Jayden.  We are still trying to keep things as slow paced as possible and enjoy spending time together, and especially enjoying Ashlyn Jeanne!

ImageAshlyn is just so sweet and happy.  She is a very easy baby, although she really wants me to hold her.
All. Day. Long.
She has started to sometimes sleep 8 hours at night, which is heaven when she does.  Of course the next night is sometimes the complete opposite, but I guess that's life with a baby.

The kids thought it would be funny to put Ashlyn in the doll stroller.  She tolerated it for a little while, and the kids had fun pushing her around.

We had our first cookout of the year.  It was great fun.  We love the beautiful weather that comes in March!

Dylan was supposed to make a collage for school to show his class all about himself.  I ended up helping him get it all thrown together.  I think it turned out pretty good!

And as usual.... the Gibson family birthday celebrations!  I'm not sure why I don't have a picture of Dylan, but we did sing to him too.

Happy Birthday Ethan!

We had a Skylanders' Party for Ethan's 7th birthday.  He invited tons of friends and we had lots of fun playing games, and eating cake and ice cream.

I looked up all sorts of games that other people had done, and even had special names for each one.  I have lost my list of the names of the games, but they were cool!  We had this target shooting game. I got little frisbees and taped pictures of Skylanders on the tops of them.  They got points depending on what circle they got their frisbees into.

They also shot discs to shoot at the greebles.  This was a tricky one, and we had discs all over the place!

This game used sticky hands to grab life crystals, or whatever they were called.  The only sad thing is we didn't know the sticky hands would stick so bad to the picture paper I printed them on that we couldn't get them off.  Luckily I had extra sticky hands and we had to use something else to grab with the sticky hands.  It was still lots of fun.

We had several other games, and we kept those kids busy playing and playing until it was time to go.

Good thing we have a big couch!  Just barely fit everyone... mostly.

I have to say I did awesome with his cake!

His birthday was on a Sunday, so we celebrated as a family on his real birthday.

Dylan used his own money to buy Ethan a Minecraft book, which has become very treasured and well used!

Jayden gave Ethan his Bop-it.  So kind and thoughtful!

Austin gave Ethan some of his Play-doh, which is very kind and thoughtful as well. Austin has really loved his Play-doh, so it was something really special for him to give it away.

Ethan is such a special boy in our family.  He is very organized and loves to make things look nice.  He loves to help others and make them happy.  He is a hard worker.  He loves music and is a great singer and is doing a great job learning to play the piano.  He absolutely loves school, and is sad that the end of the year is coming.  He loves to do what is right and wants others to choose the right too.  He loves to eat at Inn-N-Out.  He loves to color and draw.  He loves to play soccer and doesn't really have much interest in trying any other sports.  He is very sweet and very social.  He loves to talk with people and tell them all about whatever is going on in his life.  We are so glad he is in our family!  Happy Birthday Ethan!!

Happy Birthday Dylan

We had a lot of fun celebrating Dylan's birthday!

Image

Dylan has been giving really personal gifts to all his siblings, so it was really cute when Austin took a favorite toy of his (that Dylan gave him a year or so ago, which Dylan got from Santa many years ago), and gave it to Dylan.

Dylan thought it would be fun to go bowling with his friends, and I thought it sounded awesome to not have to entertain his friends at our house, so we went to Jack and Jill's and had a party!!

We love Dylan so much!  He is a wonderful boy. He helps me so much with Ashlyn.  He loves to play with little kids and is a great big brother.  He is so creative and has great ideas.  He loves to think about "What if..." questions.  He is very smart.  He loves science and recess. He is an avid reader.  He loves swimming, football, especially BYU football, and baseball.  He is very passionate about his sports.  He has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh.  Dylan loves to eat at Panda Express, Subway, and Chuck-A-Rama.  He loves going to scouts, and especially loves to camp.  He really wants to do what is right, and tries really hard to follow the commandments.  He has a tender heart, and is very kind and loving.  We don't know what we would do without our Dylan.  Happy, happy 11th birthday Dylan!
