April - Part 2

I realized I left out my pictures from my cell phone when I did my April post. So, here is April, from my phone's point of view:

The Gibson sister's threw a bridal shower for Karli.  It went fabulously!  I was in charge of the drinks and games.  I think the drinks turned out amazing (if I can say so myself).

Dylan had his first campout.  Other than losing his pants (???  - I know!) things went great. We did track down the lost pants later.

This is the way Lauren ate her Peeps.  Should I be creeped out??

Kim, Lance, Warren, and Xander came to visit for a few weeks.  It was so fun to have them around!

Xander loved  Ashlyn. He was so cute.  He was also a little rough, but so are her brothers and sister.  I laughed to watch him love her, and Kim try to keep him gentle.

The boys loved playing with Warren, and I think he might have loved it even more.

One of the kids took pictures of me and Ashlyn. I think it might have been Austin.  Not too shabby.

Lauren decided to nurse her baby doll.

I joined Ethan on a field trip to the new aquarium near us.  It was a lot of fun. The shark tunnel here is pretty cool.

Jayden has some seriously wet games this spring.  Here they are after being triumphant over a really tough team. It poured and poured on them! What a fun bunch of boys!

Gotta love time with cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house!!

My Dad was trying out the panoramic feature on his iPhone.  Things turned out a little creepy for Devon, Kyle, and Ashlyn.  Haha!

The second time was better, though Jon had some fun, and I think Ashlyn still wiggled a little.

What a fun Grandpa!!

One day I had gotten Austin and Lauren lunch before heading upstairs to feed Ashlyn while they ate.  Lauren came upstairs like this.  I'm still not entirely sure what happened, though I'm sure it involved a brother and a bottle of honey.  I kept finding sticky spots in my carpet for months.  I had to laugh at the way the honey was dripping off of Lauren's eyelashes when she came upstairs to me.

Ethan had some fun with Ashlyn and some hats.  She looks like a little Cabbage Patch Doll to me.

April

April.  It means Easter.  It means Spring.  It means Spring Break.  We took full advantage of Spring Break this year and played and played!  We took a trip to Wheeler Farm.  We took a trip to the Children's Museum. We wished we could take that trip to Oregon again like we did last year, but it just wasn't in the cards for this year.  Our local trips had to do for this year, and we made them as fun as they could be.

At Wheeler Farm we fed the ducks, saw the animals, pet the horses, played on the tractors, played in the tree house, looked for tad poles, played in the stream, and even found a snake in the water.  It was a great day at the farm!

Dylan scored us some free tickets to the Children's Museum.  We played and played!  We enjoyed the balls, the construction site, the store, the water table, the house, delivering mail, working in the grocery store and taking food to the house, the new hospital exhibit that goes with the helicopter, doing a tornado simulation (well, Lauren didn't like that after about 5 seconds and I had to pull her out), and so much more!  What a great place it is!!

The kids wanted to try this wind tunnel.  Lauren's hair looked pretty awesome, but she both her and Austin got scared as the wind picked up and I had to pull them out quick.

Image

Soccer started back up for Austin and Ethan. Austin wasn't going to play just like in the fall, but suddenly decided to and did great.

I get so many comments on how big Ashlyn's eyes are. She likes to do something like this when she is looking at something new, or someone new, or just because she is surprised or being inquisitive.

Image
 And I love her cheeks!

Image

Lauren thinks she has a doll to push around and play with.  Ashlyn sure is a cute "doll."

Image

Lauren is such a sweetie.  She is content just playing by herself. She thought this tower of tissues she made was pretty great.

Dylan had another great year of baseball  Here he is batting.  He was so excited when the coach let him play catcher at the end of the season a few times.  Catcher is by far his favorite position.  I can's say I blame him.  Its a great position!

Dylan did  Lego Mindstorm competition.  They had a few classes to teach the kids how to program the robots, and then the last day they were supposed to have their robot do a specific obstacle course, and they had to figure out how to make their robot do it.  Their robot didn't do quite as good as they hoped, but he learned so much great stuff and had a great time!

 Love these two!!

Dylan and Jayden were lucky to go to General Conference again!  What great opportunities have.  Hopefully some day they will realize how special it was for them to go.  They enjoyed it, but I think they just don't know how spoiled they are to have tickets to go.
