December tidbits

We were so excited when our house went under contract.  It meant that we could set up our Christmas stuff!  I felt that putting it all up would make everything feel to crammed, so I was glad we went under contract so quickly.  Here is Austin as we are starting the process.

My kids always ask when we are going to decorate gingerbread houses each year.  They love this tradition.  I think they go more for how much candy they can load on it than for looks, but I think they still did a good job. Sugar high... here we go!

We had another chance to see Santa at our ward party.  Well, I guess you never know when its the real one or one of his helpers, but we love seeing Santa!

Lauren cried again, but again I got her to at least be in the group picture.

I splurged and got these cute outfits for Lauren and Ashlyn.  I gotta have some fun sometimes dressing them up all cute, right?

And we finally had Jayden's birthday ice cream cake on December 27.  Better late than never, right?

In recent weeks this has become a favorite hangout spot for Ashlyn.

Ashlyn is a cuddly girl that can be quite a character.  Oh, how we love her!

We celebrated the New Year at our house with all the Kirk family.  We had fun visiting, snacking, playing games, and celebrating the New Year complete with pots and  pans banging out on our front porch. The kids had so much fun banging those pots and pans we even had a ladle/pot banger break.  Devon's always so worried the pots are going to get dented... I don't know that he's ever thought a spoon or ladle was going to break.  Luckily those are cheap enough!

Lauren had a hard time getting her boots on fast enough.  By the time she got outside everyone was done.  She was so disappointed!

Family Pictures December 2014

Getting family pictures done has been on my to do list since early fall.  It is sometimes so hard to get it all together.  It is overwhelming to try to get 8 different outfits together.  I finally made myself do it, though we did it in two shifts.  I first took Austin, Lauren, and Ashlyn to get their pictures done, and then I took the rest of us a few weeks later.  I think it all turned out pretty good.  I know I'm posting a bijillion pictures, but I love them.  My only disappointment is not getting more family pictures that I really love.  Next time...
