Happy Halloween

Halloween was wonderful.  Grandma came to go to the parade. Normally we have the parade in the afternoon, so I was glad Lauren's kindergarten parade would match up.  But, they switched it to being in the morning since it was early out day.  Murphy's law, right? I also helped in Ethan's class party.  We played burn the house down.  It went decently well, though some groups understood the game better than others.  Some of them had so much fun with it!  Jayden had debated whether to even do the parade or not this year, because he didn't want to dress up for Halloween.  He was going to just come sit with us for the parade, but then he came up with a last minute idea.  I think it worked great!

We did the usual stop by the Gibson's before trick or treating.  Jayden had really hoped to have friends over and hang out, or go to a party.  He really wasn't too interested in trick or treating, but everyone else wanted to, so he ended up trick or treating with the neighborhood boys.  Dylan went with his friends.  Ethan and Nate had a grand old time, and were trick or treating for a very long time.  Dylan and Jayden were out a long time as well.  Those three boys got a lot of candy! I took Ashlyn, Lauren, and Austin trick or treating with Josie in tow.  They all had a lot of fun, though Josie's mom, Lucy sure didn't know what to think of Josie all dressed up. Ashlyn was so cute saying "Thank  you! Happy Halloween!" I was surprised this year that she was all done trick or treating after one block.  Last year, she just went and went.  Austin and Lauren, however, did go and go. We did almost our entire ward!

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin carving sure has become a lot more fun as our boys are getting older and are able to carve their own pumpkins.  They need a little help here and there, but mostly did theirs on their own.

October Part Two

I have wanted to go see Cascade Springs for a couple of years, but it just hasn't worked out.  I finally just planned a day that we would go during fall break.  Let me tell you, it sure felt like quite the drive, I didn't realize how far out of the way it was, but the kids survived the windy drive.  We had a beautiful walk.  This place has to be gorgeous in the spring when its all green!

The Gibson Family Halloween night was so fun.  We had so much fun playing Burn the House Down and laughing together.

Dylan had a band concert.  He is enjoying his Jazz band, but not the Concert band so much.  He is wondering if he should have tried out for the symphonic band in the fall since he improved so much in the summer with private lessons.

Ethan had his Space derby.  He decided to make a Twinkie and it turned out awesome!  It was a crazy night with so many broken pieces on space ships.  Ethan's did pretty good and he made it down to the semi finals for his den.  It was a close one!

Soccer, soccer, and more soccer!  We had a lot of fun watching Jayden, Austin, and Lauren play.

Devon had me take some pictures of him with his lightsaber to send to Kyle since he was Darth Vader for Halloween.  They were too good to not post them here.

Jon and Karen's neighbor was doing free horse riding for preschoolers and they invited us along one day.  The girls loved it!

I love it when the girls just love each other.  They are usually pretty good friends and so kind to each other.

Dylan is a good big brother and got some squishies from Ashlyn, too.

Dylan made these for his English Class, and I had to take a picture of them.
