November started out with Austin losing his first tooth. Those teeth sure haven't wanted to come out. He is seven year old and finally losing that first tooth! It was so wiggly, but he was nervous to pull too hard. He was so excited, and he really wanted to keep the tooth, so he left a note, and the tooth fairy was so nice to let him keep it. Unfortunately, he lost it pretty quickly.
I went with Nancy to watch the taping of the Thanksgiving Day episode. She showed how to make a few appetizers that were so yummy: bacon wrapped little smokies, and artichoke dip. It was so fun to be there with her!
I don't know why I get such a kick out of watching this girl sleep. She is just so cute!
Austin and Lauren found a superpaint book that has been around for a long time. They had so much fun they used everything we had.
We have a lot of trees in our yard, which means we get a lot of leaves! Devon blew them all into a big pile one night so we could at least attempt to clean them up.
It took until November, but we finally brought the boys to one of the BYU games (Devon and I, of course had been to see just about all the home games). What beautiful November weather we have been having!
We went up to Grandma and Grandpa Kirk's house the day before Ashlyn's birthday because they couldn't make it down on her birthday. We partied it up with Papa Murphy's pizza.
One Sunday I pulled out the dominos and showed the boys how to make a good domino reaction. I made me long for Domino Rally. They would have thought that was pretty cool.
Here are the boy's Thanksgiving pies. We enjoyed Thanksgiving with the Kirk Family this year at Steve and Nancy's house. I love family time. We had so much fun playing games and spending time with each other. David brought a new game called Code Names that the adults had fun doing.
Ben and Sierra's baby is due in December so we had a baby shower for them. We are so excited to meet their sweet little girl soon! They will be great parents! Lauren and Ashlyn were so excited to come to the party!
Christmas decorating. Always an adventure! The kids biggest highlights is always the tree. They love hanging the ornaments, getting out their Hallmark ornaments from Grandma Gibson, getting use the ladder, the reindeer and sleighs, and the bells. Those things are so noisy I usually have to hide them after a bit, but I try to let them have some fun, too.
Grandma Kirk had her birthday. The Grand kids all love her so much. I love watching their faces as she blows out her candles.
The Grand kids also love Grandpa! He loves to sit down and play games with them and also read them books.
The snow finally came! Not only did the kids loved it, so did Josie! She would come back in with so many snowballs stuck in her fur!
We recently started a new Saturday tradition. We go running at the track. For the last several years when Devon and I train for races, it seems like our Saturdays get so filled up with our training, that we don't spend much fun family time together. And then we're usually to tired to go do anything active with our kids. I finally had this idea to take the kids to the track. Then we can all run together, at our own pace. Josie comes along too, and loves running back and forth.
