Inspiration

We were inspired by the challenges farmers face daily in choosing the right crops and fertilizers. With unpredictable weather and varying soil conditions, it’s tough to make decisions that optimize both yield and sustainability. We wanted to create something that helps farmers cut through the guesswork with reliable, AI-powered advice.

What it does

Agrimandu is like a personal farming assistant. Farmers can input details like soil type, weather, and other factors, and it suggests the best crops to grow and the ideal fertilizers to use. It’s all about making farming smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable.

How we built it

We started by diving into data—lots of it. Using datasets from Kaggle, we trained machine learning models to analyze key factors like soil composition, rainfall, and temperature. For the frontend, we used Blade templates to create a simple and intuitive interface. On the backend, we worked hard to ensure the AI delivers accurate and actionable recommendations.

Challenges we ran into

It wasn’t all smooth sailing! One big challenge was handling the variability of data—different regions have unique climates and soil types. We also had to fine-tune the AI to make sure its suggestions were accurate and useful. And let’s not forget making the platform easy to use for farmers, regardless of their tech experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re super proud of building a tool that genuinely helps farmers. Seeing it generate personalized, accurate suggestions feels amazing. Plus, creating something that blends tech with real-world impact in agriculture is a huge win for us. What we learned

This project taught us a lot about agriculture and the challenges farmers face. We also learned how to build better machine-learning models and how crucial it is to create tools that are simple yet powerful for users.

What's next for Agrimandu

We have big plans! Up next, we want to:

Expand the platform to support more crops and regions.
Integrate real-time weather data for even more precise recommendations.
Build a mobile app so farmers can access it on the go.
Add multilingual support to reach farmers everywhere.
