Inspiration
The recent launch of AZERO.ID on the mainnet served as a push for our team. We were inspired to integrate this new decentralized domain system to revolutionize the way user profiles are resolved, particularly for individuals operating within the Web3 work niche.
What it does
Aleph Blog is a cutting-edge solution that leverages the power of Aleph Zero, AZERO.ID, and Arweave to reshape the way we think about online content and user profiles in the Web3 landscape. However it is more than just a concept; it's a dynamic platform that brings together the following components:
Customized writer's profiles that reflect identity of each person and is integrated with AZERO.ID
Empowering content creation through direct donations to writers
Immutable content stored on Arweave
Post's metadata stored in smart contract's on Aleph Zero testnet
How we built it
Our smart contract were created using Ink, drink cli. Our Front End was created using NEXT.js and Inkathon template with UseInkathon hooks for React.
Challenges we ran into
Aleph ecosystem is still pretty new so we had to work based on limited amount of examples, it was also tricky because of our limited knowledge of Rust.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-The successful resolution of AZERO.IDs to custom subdomains using our bespoke NEXT.js middleware.
-Advancing our proficiency in Ink development, further enhancing our skills in blockchain innovation.
What we learned
We've polished our knowledge of polkadot and Aleph Zero ecosystems, I was able to also learn how to integrate AZERO.ID into fully working product.
What's next for Aleph Blog
- Making token-gated fully decentralized without use of backend
- Allowing for access to protocol from multiple Open-Source UIs
- Deployment on mainnet
