Inspiration
I originally had the idea to try and replicate Wizard Chess from the Harry Potter series, but I realised that I wouldn't have enough time to do animations, and so I focused on Voice Control.
What it does
ARChess uses an AR Marker to display a Chess Board and allows you to move and capture the pieces by both Text and Voice Command
How I built it
To build this, I used Unity with Vuforia to provide AR Functionality. I used the Microsoft Speech API to build the speech recognition component.
Challenges I ran into
- Vuforia kept crashing
- The speech recognition couldn't understand single letters
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Implemented AR
- Implemented Speech Recognition
What I learned
- How to use Unity
- Implementing Speech Recognition with Keywords
What's next for AR Chess
- Implementing more rules
- Adding detection for when someone wins.
Built With
- ar
- c#
- speech
- unity
- voice
- vuforia
- windows-10
