Bard Bot

Inspiration

Use discord a lot and felt a bot that performs this task would be very useful

What it does

Gives users on the server access to functions that return information from Riot Games league of legends api.

How I built it

We used Node.js with the discord.js node module to create conditionals for different chat messages.

Challenges I ran into

We ran into a lot of issues in regards to getting the right info out of the API as certain requests did not return all the info we needed and this often led to falling into very deep callbacks chains.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud of the fact we managed to create a useful tool within the 12 hour time frame and that we learned a lot in the process.

What I learned

We learned a lot about interacting with an API that we did not design ourselves and dealing with the restrictions that come with that.

What's next for Bard Bot

Next we would like to add a lot more tools and functionality to the bot to make it more useful for the general user. We would also like to include some more fun commands for our own enjoyment.
