Inspiration
We wanted to make a useful tool to calculate bills for roommates.
What it does
Our website allows roommates to add items to the master list and then select specific items from that list which they will pay for. When multiple users select the same item, the cost is split. Then, users can view a summary of their items and total cost.
How we built it
We used React.js to make the web app.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of trouble setting up React and displaying different pages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made the web pages navigable and made some of the functionality work. Plus, it was my first time using React, JS, and HTML.
What we learned
Hackathons are a lot of work!
What's next for Bill Split
We want to finish implementing more of the app, improve the UI, and hopefully get it to a point where it will be useful for college students like us.
