Birthday Dashboard

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was to have a one-stop landing page for keeping track of birthdays and gift ideas for friends and family.

What it does

The application allows users to not rely on Facebook or excel spreadsheets to remind them of when birthdays are but rather stores the data on Airtable's system and displays it in a visually appealing way.

How we built it

Focusing on utilizing low tech, the entire application is built in Airtable.

Challenges we ran into

I initially was unsure if I wanted to try to build the app on a website or a private service such as Airtable. I focused on having the primary functionality finished so I went with Airtable.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have all of the primary functionalities finished for the application in 24 hours.

What we learned

I learned how to work with Airtable and no-code systems.

What's next for Birthday Dashboard

Next, I hope to integrate Birthday dashboard with google calendar to export the calendars of birthdays. I also hope to integrate gpt apis to generate gift ideas. Finally, I want to utilize an abstracted version of the interface (without any data) that allows people to input their own friends and their birthdays to keep track of.
