Brand Brain was inspired by a simple but widespread problem we observed among small businesses in India. Shop owners, local startups, and service providers rely heavily on posters, banners, and social media creatives to attract customers, yet most do not have access to professional designers or an understanding of design principles. As a result, their branding often looks inconsistent, cluttered, and culturally misaligned, reducing trust and engagement.

Through this project, we learned how design quality, brand consistency, and cultural context directly impact business communication. We also gained a deeper understanding of the Adobe Express add-on ecosystem and how intelligent assistance can be embedded into existing creative workflows without overwhelming users.

We built Brand Brain as an Adobe Express add-on that observes design choices in real time and provides simple, actionable suggestions. It analyzes layout structure, typography, color usage, content tone, and regional context to help users create more polished and effective designs. Instead of redesigning assets, Brand Brain works alongside the user, guiding them with lightweight feedback that aligns with Indian audiences and real business needs.

One of the key challenges was balancing intelligence with simplicity—ensuring suggestions were helpful without disrupting creativity. Another challenge was accounting for diverse regional languages, festivals, and design styles, which required thoughtful abstraction rather than rigid rules. Brand Brain represents our attempt to make professional-quality branding accessible to everyone, not just designers.
