Inspiration

Nan, one of our teammates and a fashion designer studying at Parsons, has a deep appreciation for minimalism. Her baby clothing designs focus on high-quality fabrics that foster a peaceful and nurturing transition from babyhood. This became her primary focus after presenting her graduation runway show. However, discovering what she truly wanted to express and translating it into tangible designs was a painstaking process—one that required deep introspection and continuous refinement.

Fashion runways in London and New York showcase elaborate fabric combinations, with models stylishly walking the T-stage, captivating audiences with designs that embody the thoughts and emotions of the designers. Each collection is a statement, an artistic expression of the designer’s inner world.

What it does

How we built it

  • AI & ML Integration: We used Stablity models to generate and refine design elements based on chosen aesthetics and personalization preferences.
  • Data Analysis: We connected social media APIs to analyze designers' interests and inspirations from their following and engagement patterns.
  • Interactive UI: Designed an intuitive interface that allows designers to experiment and iterate seamlessly.

Challenges we ran into

  • Defining Aesthetic Transformations: Mapping out how each of the six aesthetics translates into tangible design changes was complex and find clothing images representing those styles.
  • Personalization Algorithm: Balancing designer preferences with AI-generated randomness without diluting creativity was a challenge.
  • Data Privacy & API Limitations: Connecting social media platforms while respecting data privacy and API restrictions required careful planning.
  • Ensuring Artistic Authenticity: Avoiding AI-generated designs that feel too generic and instead capturing the designer’s unique essence was a key challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Personalized AI Styling: Developed a unique system that tailors designs based on both artistic principles and social media engagement.

What we learned

  • AI can enhance, but not replace, a designer’s vision. The best results come from a balance of AI guidance and human creativity.
    • Designers appreciate tools that help them experiment without taking away their control.
  • Social media analysis offers strong insights into user preferences but must be handled ethically.

What's next for Brando

  • Expanded Aesthetic Categories: Adding more artistic styles and nuanced aesthetic values.
  • Deeper Social Media Insights: Refining our social media analysis to provide more precise recommendations.
  • 3D & AR Integration: Allowing designers to visualize and test their designs in a digital environment before production.
