Inspiration
Inspired by the critically acclaimed Ryan Testing 1 and its even more critically acclaimed sequel Ryan Testing 2, we decided to make something groundbreaking, which is why we made it about BLAHAJ.
What it does
- You swim around as BLAHAJ, avoiding the fishing hooks from up and swimming around.
- There is a secret dance move that you might be able to perform if you are skilled enough.
- The aforementioned dance move is definitely not because Alvin's code has a bug with the way it flips the sprite.
How we built it
We used the following to build BROHAJ:
- Godot as our game engine.
- Google's Chrome Music Lab to make our Music.
- React and Next.js to build our website template.
- TailwindCSS and Headless UI for styling.
- Heroicons for the Sun and Moon icons.
Challenges we ran into
- Finding an art style for the game was a bit of a task, but hey, we figured that out.
- Getting Blahaj to float instead of disappearing at the end of the game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Making the game itself hehe.
- Making music for the game.
- Figuring out tiny mistakes quickly.
What we learned
Elisha helped in making a game for the first time and learned that you can draw on paper for the artwork hehe. Alvin did a really good job, he's super smart and he learned to do a lot of new things also. He also learned how to take breaks in between.
What's next for BROHAJ
- Swimming around has made BLAHAJ very tired, they need some rest now :)
Built With
