Inspiration

We have friends who are stuck in Singapore whose family members are working abroad but they are unable to visit them due to COVID restrictions. We also have friends based overseas who could not come back to celebrate special occasions (Chinese New Year, Birthdays) with their family since last year. We also miss going overseas and long for food and items from overseas. There are some people staying overseas that miss Singapore cuisine.

What it does

It links Singaporeans all over the world based on the countries they are going to. Buddee can also give you the latest updates about travel news from Singapore embassies overseas. It will tell you about upcoming activities for fellow Singaporeans to come together and celebrate special occasions like Chinese New Year and National Day. We can also use this platform to request for someone to help us buy food/items from abroad and send it to us or when they return to Singapore and vice versa.

How we built it

We made a prototype with Figma.

What we learned

We learnt to have teamwork and learnt more about people staying overseas and their concerns. (we conducted a survey. )

What's next for Buddee

We can add a job portal that can provide Singaporeans staying overseas with job opportunities (especially if they went overseas with their family members and not because of work)
