Inspiration:
Our passion for music and spontaneous weird noises.
What it does:
Stores and plays mp3 files at the press of a button, which lights up upon interaction. One button is assigned to switch between sound categories, and each category holds 6 different sounds.
How we built it:
With Arduino, cardboard material, bottle caps, funny recordings and tears. We assembled the Arduino using an Arduino MP3 Music Shield and a couple of breadboards.
Challenges we ran into:
The amount of pins available, working with analog inputs, creating the code, and putting the buttons in the cardboard at 3AM. Due to some electrical phenomena, our last 2 lights ended up being very dim.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We covered all of our goals, it works, "HUNIT"!
What we learned:
We learned how to code in Arduino, basic electronics, the principals of listeners (even though we didn't include them), and lots of teamwork and Google research experience.
What's next for C JAM:
Making a 3D printed vessel, and reducing the delay of the outputs in order to hook this up to a HUGE speaker and make it lit!
