The spark for Celestia 3 wasn't born in a lab, but in a local apothecary. While visiting the shop with my wife, we met a kind and gifted practitioner named Tina. As Tina sat with us and read my wife's astrological chart, the conversation drifted toward technology and how I was using AI.

Tina had primarily used AI for business schedules, but I saw an opportunity to show her something deeper. Right there in the store, amidst the scents of dried herbs and ancient traditions, I pulled up Google AI Studio and built a rapid-prototype astrology app on the spot.

Seeing her amazement as the AI synthesized paths she had studied for years was a revelation. It wasn't just about automation; it was about augmentation. I realized I wanted to bridge that gap—to fuse the clinical precision of modern data science with the intuitive depths of the mystic. I wanted to see if Gemini and I could partner to become a digital Nostradamus for the modern era. When this hackathon came up I started fresh full fledged application with the Celestial Flyby that intros the app and built from there.

Celestia 3 is a high-fidelity Technomancy dashboard that transforms abstract astronomical data into actionable, agentic insights. It serves as a digital bridge between ancient esoteric traditions and modern artificial intelligence.

Core Systems:

  • Astral Resonance Engine: A specialized synastry system that moves beyond generic romantic tropes to map deep archetypal connections. It identifies "Soul-Ties," "Destiny Threads," and harmonic resonances between individuals.
  • Precision Natal Compass: A real-time charting interface that utilizes sub-degree precision and geocoding to map the heavens at the exact moment of birth with clinical accuracy.
  • Celebrity Scrying: An autonomous research module that allows users to identify soul-resonance with public figures, instantly generating "Aetheric" charts and resonance reports from zero-shot memory.
  • The Cosmic Codex: An AI-curated grimoire of esoteric lore, providing deep-dives into Arithmancy (numerology), Ritual practice, and the agent's internal reasoning logs. At its core, Celestia 3 is an autonomous partner—a digital seer that helps users navigate their personal "Aura Manifest" through a stunning, data-rich user experience.

🏗️ How we built it

Celestia 3 evolved from a spontaneous prototype into a complex agentic system.

  • The Spark: We began by rapid-prototyping the core logic in Google AI Studio directly from the apothecary where the project was conceived.
  • Scaling with Antigravity: Once the project outgrew the initial infrastructure, we migrated operations to Google's Antigravity platform. Here, we leveraged native Gemini 3 integration within the development environment, using agentic AI to help architect the codebase, debug complex celestial logic, and refine the UI.
  • The Tech Stack:
    • Next.js & TypeScript: For a reactive, high-performance frontend.
    • Tailwind CSS & Framer Motion: Powering the "Technomancy" aesthetic and technical bento-grids.
    • Firebase: Managing global state, user preferences, and real-time data persistence.
    • Swiss Ephemeris: The high-precision engine for clinical-grade planetary positioning.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

The most significant technical hurdle was the Astronomy Engine. We initially attempted to integrate the Swiss Ephemeris using its standard Python wrappers, only to find the implementation was fundamentally broken.

  • The "Orphaned" Library: We discovered that the primary Python bridge (pyswisseph) suffered from severe maintenance gaps—broken documentation, inconsistent API calls, and a specific bug in version 2.10.3.x that rendered error strings inaccessible.
  • The Patch: To achieve the precision we needed, we had to "rescue" the implementation, manually patching path-handling logic and writing custom wrappers to ensure the Python logic correctly communicated with the raw C source code.
  • Multimodal Alignment: Synchronizing Gemini’s creative interpretations with the clinical precision of the Swiss Ephemeris required extensive prompt-engineering to ensure the "Nostradamus" persona remained accurate yet visionary.

  • Historical Personas are Stable: Grounding an AI in specific historical texts (like Agrippa or the Picatrix) creates a far more consistent and profound personality than generic "be a seer" prompting.
  • Technical Resiliency: The struggle with the Swiss Ephemeris taught us the importance of understanding the "metal" beneath the code. Rescuing an orphaned library reminded us that sometimes the best way forward is to reach back and fix the foundations ourselves.
  • Multimodal Synergy: Integrating multimodal vision with precise astronomical data showed us that the future of AI isn't just in text, but in the synthesis of varied data streams into a single, cohesive human experience.
