Inspiration

as a group, we came together to discuss our personal financial journeys. we realized that we all face similar challenges. Lack of financial education, budgeting struggles, and mounting debt were common themes that echoed in the conversations. This sparked an idea: What if there was a platform that could help young adults like ourselves navigate the complex world of personal finance? And so, CFM was born

What it does

CFM is a career financial management platform designed to be aimed towards young adults b/w 18-25 years. It aims to empower users with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions, manage their budgets effectively, and achieve a healthy balance between spending and saving. By integrating personal finance education, budgeting tools, and a supportive community, CFM provides young adults with a solid foundation for long-term financial success.

How we built it

Created using HTML, CSS, python, javascript, sqlite to create our database and connect it to a server with Flask.

Challenges we ran into

As we began developing CFM, we faced several challenges. One major obstacle was creating a platform that could cater to the diverse financial needs and experiences of young adults. We also encountered difficulties in making complex financial concepts easily understandable for users with little to no prior knowledge. Finally, we had to ensure that our platform was engaging and accessible, so users would feel motivated to continue learning and applying what they've learned, this proved difficult due to the lack of experience of our team who could mainly code in one language and this led to limited resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges, we still pride in the platform we were able to develop.

What we learned

Throughout the development of CFM, we learned the importance of empathy and understanding when designing a platform for young adults with diverse financial backgrounds. We also discovered the power of community in motivating users to take control of their finances and share their experiences with others facing similar challenges.

What's next for CFM

As we continue to refine and expand CFM, our future plans include adding more advanced financial topics, integrating additional tools such as investment tracking, and partnering with educational institutions to bring CFM to even more young adults. We are committed to continually improving our platform to better serve the financial needs of our users and ensure they have the support and knowledge necessary to achieve financial success
