Inspiration: Fort Worth is investing in cyber workforce development, but most residents don't know where to start. We wanted to remove that barrier with a simple, personalized tool. What it does: CyberPath AI takes a 3-step skills assessment and generates a fully personalized cybersecurity career roadmap — including learning phases, certifications with costs, and Fort Worth-specific local resources like TCC and UTA programs. How we built it: React + TypeScript frontend, Python Flask backend, Groq AI (LLaMA 3.3 70B) for roadmap generation, REST API connecting both. Challenges: Structuring AI output consistently as JSON, handling port conflicts on macOS, and making the roadmap genuinely useful rather than generic. Accomplishments: A fully working prototype that generates unique, actionable roadmaps in under 10 seconds with real Fort Worth employer and training resources. What we learned: How to prompt LLMs for structured JSON output and how to build a fast full-stack AI app end to end. What's next: Add job board integration, user accounts to track progress, and expand to other Texas cities.
