Co-Mentor enables people to match based on the skills they are able to mentor on, as well as what skills they would like to be mentored on.

Inspiration

The inspiration is that it can be difficult to connect with others, but being vulnerable and admitting what you would like help on, as well as having an opportunity to teach someone simultaneously, would be beneficial.

What it does

The app allows for the creation of profiles, and matching based on primary strengths and primary weaknesses. It allows for logging in via LinkedIn

How we built it

We built it using Vue, D3, MongoDB, Open AI.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Tried out new technology but didn't have time to learn it
  2. Time managment
  3. Implementation
  4. Database setup

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  3. I feel like our idea really touches on the objective

What we learned

  1. We learned to get going on the UI/UX development in a technology we know faster.
  2. We learned that algorithms are tough, and to prioritize the visual/functional presentation, or otherwise again use an easy DB implementation.

What's next for Co-Mentor

  1. Who knows, maybe we'll finish it!
