Inspiration
After learning that many freshman college students often find it difficult to live independently and face important individual decisions, we decided to help deal with this issue with our up-to-date college guide.
What it does
Our college guide provides advice and tips for college students, including general college tips, tips to succeed academically, financial advice, and an interactive chatbot.
How we built it
We built this project using the general components of web development, including HTML, CSS, and JS. We used Netlify to deploy this project into a website.
Challenges we ran into
At first, we were working on a different project, but realized it was too ambitious to be finished within the given time frame. We switched to this project because we thought it would be extremely helpful to college students and finish-able within time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of being able to finish this in time, especially with this being one of our first hackathons. We worked well together as a team and got the project done as a group.
What we learned
We learned to make sure to not dive into a project immediately and give ourselves enough time to get the project done. We had to work until the last minute, which was probably not optimal since something could have gone wrong.
What's next for College Guide
We hope to update the website whenever we can with new resources and new information that is applicable to all college students.
