Inspiration

We noticed that there was one of the big problems relating to space is the lack of space education available. We also noticed that whenever we found information, it was not very readable and exciting. So we decided to fix this problem by creating CosmoGuide.

What it does

CosmoGuide is a space-themed website which make learning about space fun, interactive, and accessible to everyone. It contains a chatbot that can answer any space related question accurately and in an easy to understand way. It also has features such as producing interesting facts and has a daily space image which changes every 24 hours.

How we built it

We built the website using html, css, javascript. We built the chatbot using Botpress. We trained the chatbot with Nasa's space handbook and also a lot of other space exploration information.

Challenges we ran into

Originally, we created a chatbot using Google Dialogflow but the API was not connecting with our website. Therefore, we decided to make the chatbot using BotPress. We had a lot of issues adding the chatbot to our website but eventually understood the design format. Additionally it was very difficult to get the bot to produce accurate results as it took a lot of trial and error.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating website with a really nice design aswell as a working and proficient well trained space chatbot.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how to create chatbots and integrate it in to websites. We also learned a lot about space exploration in this process. This project really improved our web development and design skills aswell!

What's next for Cosmo Guide

We want to make this chatbot accessible for everyone to use for free world wide. This would mean that space information is more accessible to the world as well as portray it in an exciting light!
