Inspiration
Content Blockchain was largely inspired by play-to-earn web 3 mobile gaming and social media content creation.
What it does
Allows content creators to earn crypto for their branded content partnership ads on social media and lets brands reach new potential customers by enabling partnerships with content creators via cryptocurrency token transactions.
How we built it
The core network is built on Flow blockchain, which uses cadence as its native development language. Cryptocurrency asset price updates are run on Chainlink Datafeeds for Flow blockchain. Verse tokens are offered as a method of payment to content creators and as a purchase method for brands in a circular verse economy system. The verse tokens can later be swapped for other tokens on our wallet network. Additionally, the wallet has a truflation widget for users to get the latest market data on our available tokens, thereby informing users on the best tokens to swap when creators are earning for their content, or buy when brands are looking to partner with creators. Space and Time is used as a main data aggregator for our application on our decentralised network data collected from Chainlink and Flow application usage. Amazon Web services serves as our off-chain database storage for our back end protocols and data processing.
Challenges we ran into
Building and designing App for a web 3 ecosystem on a tight schedule
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Coming up with a product that can be an incentive to adopt the use of cryptocurreny tokens as a form of transaction
What we learned
The fundamentals of how central banking and market economies work. As a designer, it is good to have been able to learn more about the structure of web 3 applications, what works well and the myriad of challenges developers face when building on chain or web 3 applications. One of the hardest problems to solve is user adoption and strategic product design for web 3 applications, while trying to also create friendly incentives to gain user trust in tokenised economic systems.
What's next for Content Block Chain
We will be looking at the possibility of integrating our solution into native browsers as an extension while we figure out our user experience design strategy for an Android or IOS application.
