Inspiration

We noticed a growing shift: millions of people turn to creators on platforms like Instagram and YouTube not just for entertainment — but to learn real skills from real people.

Creators have built audiences around highly specific domains — automation, crypto, productivity, parenting, and more. But there’s no easy way to search and explore their paid educational content, unless you already follow them.

Crowberry was born to answer a simple question: What if you could type in a skill you want to learn, and instantly discover digital products created by top social media educators in that space?

What it does

Crowberry is a search engine for creator-led learning content, designed to help users:

• 🔍 Search for a skill, niche, or business idea (e.g., “automation agency” or “time management for moms”)
• 📦 Browse actual digital products created by social media creators (not just their free content)
• 🧠 Get personalized learning paths, built dynamically from pre-scraped products
• 🎬 See short-form video previews (Reels, Shorts) to get a feel for the creator
• 🧵 Read narrative stories and quotes from the creators that humanize the experience
• 👤 Explore mini-profile modals that show social handles, follower counts, and platform reach
• ✅ Approve, adjust, or explore alternative products in the recommended path

It’s designed to feel alive, personal, and creator-first, not like a generic course platform.

How we built it

• 🔧 Frontend: React + TailwindCSS for fast iteration and responsive design
• 💾 Mock database: Handcrafted products.json file with ~24 educational products across 3 learning themes (Just because we started late, we couldn't finish the actual AI social media scraper/crawler, but we are working on large database which will give superpowers to Crowberry and open access to beta testing for early waitlist subscribers)
• 🤖 AI logic: Simulated conversational path builder using pre-filled logic (hardcoded decision trees for demo)
• 📦 Layout system: Dynamic UI that presents search results as either course cards or guided learning paths
• 🎞 Media integration: Embedded Reels and Shorts from YouTube/Instagram with a horizontal carousel
• 🧷 Human touch: Unique design with polaroid-style creator photos, narrative ribbons, and personal quotes
• 📱 Responsive design: Different layouts for mobile and desktop to maximize emotional connection with creators

Challenges we ran into

• Balancing AI personalization with a limited, hardcoded demo dataset
• Designing a UI that feels intimate and human, not just functional — especially in limited time (2 days)
• Embedding real video content without access to scraping pipeline
• Simulating chat-style question flows without backend logic
• Making sure users see creators as people, not products

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Built an interactive MVP with personalized learning paths from real creator products in under 48 hours
• Developed a consistent, creator-first visual language: human photos, narrative ribbons, swipeable reels, and story-centric UX
• Managed to fit all that into a frictionless web app demo that feels way bigger than the codebase actually is

What we learned

• People don’t just want information — they want connection, story, and trust
• Education doesn’t need to feel like a “platform” — it can feel like scrolling TikTok and discovering someone you trust
• The framing of “learn from creators you already admire” unlocks massive engagement potential

What's next for Crowberry - Learn from your favorite creator

Crowberry is just getting started. Here’s what’s next:

• 🔍 Full-text search across scraped course landing pages
• 🧠 Use LLMs for dynamic learning path generation from any open-ended query
• 🤝 Partner with creators to sync real product data via API or scraped sources
• 📈 Launch a public-facing beta where learners can bookmark, follow, and save learning journeys
• 💬 Add a real chatbot flow that builds a learning path with contextual follow-up questions
• 🪙 Possibly launch a tokenized version on a crypto launchpad — letting creators earn onchain from learning path placements

Crowberry FAQ:

❓Why would someone visit Crowberry and search for anything, when they can just keep scrolling and let the social media algorithm recommend courses and other content based on their interests?

A: Social media algorithms are built to keep you watching, not to help you learn. You might come across a course eventually, but it’s noisy, accidental, and driven by engagement—not quality. Crowberry starts with your intent and shows you real educational products from credible creators who actually teach what they’ve done.

❓If someone wants to learn something specific, deep, and right now, why not just use platforms like Udemy, Coursera, MasterClass or other online education platforms?

A: Those platforms are great for general skills, but they often miss niche, real-world topics. Crowberry surfaces practical content from creators who’ve actually done what they teach — not just courses, playbooks, tutorials, but also coaching sessions, workshops, consultations, memberships, and creator-led communities. If you want a credential, go to Coursera. If you want to do the thing, go to Crowberry.

❓ How does Crowberry ensure its search engine doesn’t suggest flashy, low-quality products and creators?

A: Crowberry prioritizes real expertise over popularity. We don’t rank by likes or views but by depth of content, consistency, and proven quality. Early on, we use a handpicked, vetted set of creators who demonstrate real experience, not hype. We analyze posts and products for genuine value, not empty motivation. User feedback helps refine results, and creators who rely on “get rich fast” tactics are filtered out or ranked lower. Simply put, Crowberry surfaces creators who teach because they’ve done the work, not just because they went viral.
