Inspiration
The Cryptunes was inspired by the growing popularity of NFTs and the need for a dedicated platform for NFT communities to connect and thrive. The team behind The Cryptunes recognized the potential of blockchain technology and its ability to enable creators to monetize their digital assets.
What it does
Cryptunes is a decentralized social platform that allows users to create and monetize NFT collections.
It offers a range of features, including a group chat for each collection, post features, and profiles showcasing users' posts and NFTs. The Decentralized social features are based on the Ceramic Network, which is based on DIDs for EVM-supported blockchains, while all the NFTs are stored on IPFS and hosted on the Fantom Blockchain.
The platform supports various NFTs, including :
stable diffusion-generated NFTs using open-AI Dalle-2 APIs
Interactive visualizers using the CID of HTML pages
audio NFTs
image NFTs
ticket NFTs
Cryptunes also provides a user-friendly UI for minting and showcasing the NFTs of each collection and each user's owned NFTs from their dedicated profiles.
How we built it
The Cryptunes was built using blockchain technology, specifically the ERC1155 standard for NFTs. The platform was developed using various technologies, including React, Solidity, IPFS, and Ceramic Network, to provide a decentralized discord experience based on DIDs in the Phantom Cryptunes Dapp.
Challenges we ran into
The team faced various challenges during development, including integrating different technologies, ensuring security and privacy, and designing a user-friendly interface. Ensuring the platform was fully decentralized and could handle high traffic was also a significant challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building Cryptunes. We built a user-friendly interface and the ability to support various types of NFTs. We are also proud of the platform's ability to provide a secure and transparent environment for NFT communities to connect and thrive. We also included Royalties in Each Collection. Each NFT creator takes 80% . The Collection pool 10%, and the cryptunes platform takes the remaining 10% of the Mint Price.
What we learned
We learned much about blockchain technology, specifically the ERC1155 standard for NFTs and the importance of decentralization. We also learned about the challenges of developing a decentralized platform and the importance of ensuring user privacy and security.
What's next for Cryptunes
We plan to continue developing the platform, adding new features, and supporting new types of NFTs. We also plan to expand the platform's reach and increase user adoption by partnering with other blockchain projects and NFT communities. We plan to introduce a 0% fee Marketplace like Opensea for the Cryptunes NFTs and also include a modular transfer module for NFTs with other ERC20 or ERC721, or ERC1155 Tokens to extend the possibilities on the Fantom ecosystem. We plan to launch Cryptunes into Fantom Mainet in the upcoming months!
