Inspiration

Meet Alex, a passionate and talented fashion designer who dreams of making a mark in the industry. Alex has a small studio where he works tirelessly on his designs, but he constantly faces challenges that hinder his progress.

One of the biggest issues Alex encounters is the high cost of bringing his ideas to life. Every new design requires a photo shoot, which means booking a studio, hiring models, and arranging for a photographer. These costs add up quickly, making it difficult for Alex to experiment with new ideas. He often finds himself sticking to safer designs because the financial risk of trying something new is too high.

Additionally, fabric costs and wastage are a significant concern. Alex has to order fabric samples and create prototypes to see how his designs will look in reality. This process is not only expensive but also time-consuming. Many times, the final product doesn’t match his vision, leading to wasted materials and effort.

Alex’s social media presence also suffers because he can’t afford to have frequent photoshoots. He struggles to keep his followers engaged with fresh content, which is crucial for marketing and growing his brand. As we move towards AI, Darzi AI emerges as a tool that makes our lives easier and cheaper in the fashion design industry. with the introduction of our tool, Alex’s challenges could be significantly alleviated leveraging the power of AI.

What It Does

Sketch to Design ✨ transform the realistic images of a fashion piece on a model. Your sketch made in Canva comes to life, providing clear images of what the fashion piece might look like.

The Try-On tool ✨ can morph the clothing created by Sketch to Design onto a model or a person's image that you upload. This allows you to see the application of your clothing designs on the models in your contract.

How We Built It

Two AI models run in the backend, one for Sketch to Design and one for Try-On. These models respond through our API hosted on AWS. The request goes through Cloudflare for additional security.

Challenges We Ran Into

One major challenge was getting the request as HTTPS. We have prior experience creating self-signed certificates, but the Canva App SDK blocked the response. We then turned to Cloudflare, created a domain, and linked our API to that domain.
