Dash Hack

Inspiration

Who doesn't want a button that run whatever command they want?

What it does

Pressing the button on your Amazon Dash runs the specified batch command.

How I built it

Using tshark (the command line version of Wireshark), Dash Hack will sniff the network until it finds that the Amazon Dash is trying to connect itself. When this happens, it will execute whatever command was specified, by default: the John Cena song.

Challenges I ran into

Having tshark restart counting packets, after it receives a specific one. Finding the Amazon Dash's MAC address.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Spending only $5 gave me a button that I can use for pretty much anything.

What I learned

The John Cena theme song gets annoying after awhile.

What's next for Dash Hack

Possibly making it order my favorite pizza.
