Inspiration
My inspiration for building this world came from the popularity of current first person shooter games, in and out of Horizon Worlds.
What it does
This game is a 15 player free-for-all first person shooter game.
How we built it
I built all of my mesh in Blender and I utilized some of the assets from the Horizon Worlds asset library. My texturing was accomplished using a mix of resources, including Blender and Photoshop. All of the scripting in this world is done in codeblock.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge I ran into on this build was learning all of the aspects of texturing for Horizon Worlds and navigating any bugs I ran into while scripting the world.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The main thing I am proud of is being able to learn and accomplish what I have in a tight time frame.
What we learned
Through this build I learned that when you run into a problem, sometimes it is important to take a step back and let everything you have done so far sink in. Then go back and try to tackle the issue with a fresh mind.
What's next for Desert Warfare
There are a massive amount of updates to come. Some of the things I am looking at are:
- An XP system for rewarding players' hard work on the battlefield
- Weapon skins
- In-game power-ups
- New maps to battle your friends -Many more ideas to come!
