Inspiration

Interfacing with computers have always been limited to the use of pre-built controllers and devices.

What it does

DrawSense is a device that can allow pencil on paper drawings to be used as a computer interface. What this means is you can draw a picture of a game controller on an ordinary piece of paper using a plain graphite pencil, and after attaching and calibrating it with DrawSense, use it as a real game controller for your computer.

Treats graphite drawings as a capacitance circuit and maps real-time touch input from drawings to computer input using statistical calibration algorithms Implemented with Python, C++ and Arduino, awarded 3rd at ConUHacks 2017

How we built it

Built using Arduino and Python using pySerial library for communication as well as paper and lead pencil for the drawing of the control interface.
