Inspiration
DZIM was inspired by those who are elderly or have sight problems and other similar disabilities preventing them from using normal technological methods to receive easy access to
What it does
We are addressing, in addition to the public audience, differently-abled users, with accessibility limitations like Visual, Motor/Mobility, Seizures, and Cognitive/Intellectual by providing Audio guidance and interface mirroring functionalities available in the UI and web-based application
How we built it
DZIM was built on the front-end side using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery. On the back-end, DZIM was programmed with artificial intelligence, Amazon Alexa, Node.JS, and medical information APIs.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges on the back end with programming Alexa in the new version that Amazon had realized, that had changes we were unfamiliar too. On the front-end, connecting Javascript input to other pages on the Web app, without a database was also difficult, but an amazing learning experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to speak to Alexa, and have a clear and crisp UI for the Web app.
What we learned
We learned how to connect different APIs to the back-end, and programming javascript inputs into different pages in HTML on the front-end.
What's next for DZIM
DZIM is looking forward to raising funds to market our product to our unique market to provide helpful solutions to the elderly and those with sight disabilities.
