Inspiration

We are young investors looking for a tool to complement our financial strategy.

What it does

It fetches articles from the Bing API and then runs a sentiment analysis on them through Microsoft's cognitive services. It is hosted on AWS and provides visuals and supplemental trading information.

How we built it

Utilizing the latest industry-recognized web frameworks, we collect news information over a period of time. Using these articles, we perform a sentiment analysis on them, take an average "feeling" compared to the closing stock price of that day.

Challenges we ran into

Algorithms to correlate feelings to stock prices proved to be difficult, as well as fetching a large sample size from Bing.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

Full stack development and creating a unique and polished product in less than 24 hours.

Expand our database of articles to build a comprehensive history and add in other various news sources and metrics.
