Inspiration

My neighbor has really bad allergies and has struggled to find food that is safe. He suggested this idea.

What it does

Using the iPhone app, you punch in all of your allergies. While shopping, you open the app's barcode scanner and hold it over an item. You will get an alert if it contains one of your listed allergens.

How I built it

I built it using xcode, written with swift.

Challenges I ran into

It turns out that it's very difficult to store data on an iPhone.

I need to fix the barcode scanning and connect it to a database of different foods.
