Inspiration

It was hard to find people to work on a project here or anywhere

What it does

Face 2 Face lets you submit a search for what you want to do with new people who are close to you. As soon as you'll get close to someone searching for the same activity, both of you get notified. Whenever you click on a meeting, you'll be routed to the closest POI.

How we built it

We used Here API for the maps. We used Amadeus API for finding POIs close to the users, to suggest a meeting point. We used Node.js & Express for the backend. We used jQuery & Bootstrap for the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

It was quite difficult to be productive with three people right from the beginning. Bootstrapping the project took quite some time to set everyone up.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we were able to use Here and Amadeus APIs successfully. Amadeus did not have any examples in JavaScript, we figured a way to do it in JavaScript. We were able to locate people in realtime and connect them in realtime based on filters. We were able to route the matched people to the nearest point of interest.
