FaceAuthen.tech is a web app that employs Taipy and OpenCV to analyze facial images through facial recognition by cross-referencing these images with our data, it maintains a record of attendance.
Inspiration - The inspiration behind faceAuthen.tech is to promote security within schools and workplaces. Through the facial recognition software, faceAuthen.tech allows for another form of secure identification.
What it does - faceAuthen.tech detects and matches faces to the proper identity by cross referencing with the data stored.
How we built it - faceAuthen.tech was built in python with the use of OpenCV and Taipy.
Challenges we ran into - While building our project, some challenges we ran into included embedding the camera application into our web app without having a second window opening.
Accomplishments that we're proud of - We are incredibly proud of the project we've created at our very first Hack the North hackathon. Additionally, in one weeknd, we have learned how to use Taipy.
What we learned - HacktheNorth has taught us how to manage and develop a project within a small timeframe. As well, we learned how to quickly pick up new technologies, which include Taipy.
What's next for faceAuthen.tech - We would like to make faceAuthen.tech a mobile app that could be used by schools and companies to further protect the people in these environments.
