Inspiration
Our fish died during our last hackathon, so we thought that we would make something to prevent that from happening again.
What it does
Smartphone application that monitors fish tank conditions real time, allowing for changes in caretaking (heating, lighting, filtering).
How we built it
Arduinos to sense environmental conditions, Parse for a backend, and Electric Imp to communicate between the two.
Challenges we ran into
There were several challenges that we ran into during the course of the hackathon. Our code ended up brought down the Electric Imp servers (some error with the Parse api working with the Electric Imp), and were personally contacted by employees at the company to resolve the issue together.
