Inspiration

With COVID restrictions lifting, more and more people are starting to travel once again. However, the pandemic made us forget the frustrating and time-consuming ordeal of comparing flight offers from different websites. Our group was inspired by the idea of a one-stop experience that made searching for flights easy and even fun. Thus, Flight Studio was born.

What it does

Flight Studio only requires a single sentence in English to return the best flight offer: Example: "I want to travel from Vancouver to Shanghai on Nov 23, 2022"

How we built it

Frontend: Next JS, Tailwind CSS Backend: Flask, sklearn, numpy, pandas Bonus: Appwrite, Google Cloud

Challenges we ran into

Socket for writing the chat application (either refuses to send messages or sends them twice) Integrating backend ML APIs with frontend

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning React in a day for 3/4 of us, and building a pretty decent frontend! Use of API's and ML for our backend to maximize the utility of our hack

What we learned

React provides a substantially more streamlined developer experience compared to vanilla HTML/CSS/Javascript
