Inspiration
One third of the world's produced food is thrown away each year, being a real problem for the environment. We thought we had to do something to minimize this waste of resources and this hackathon was an ideal place to build it.
What it does
Customers of restaurants and supermarkets can buy almost expired food for a discount through the app and then pick it up at the shop.
How we built it
We used Android Studio to build a first prototype of the app.
Challenges we ran into
Being a small team made it difficult to do all the tasks, as we focused more on the idea.
What we learned
We improved our Android's knowledge.
What's next for Foodware
Our future view for Foodware is to create a full service to help everyone reduce waste.
With part of the app's benefits, one of our objectives is to build a complete shipment system to provide charities of all the food that is donated by the app users.
Another main objective of the project would be the integration of a user shipment system (like glovo)
