Inspiration
Personally knowing how hard it is to organise local football sessions on any pitch in terms of finding the right people, the right football pitch and the right timing has encouraged us to seek and formulate an effective measure that can combat this. We believe it can inspire collaboration and strengthen a community of 'Ballers' that can hope to get their "Foot-In" more frequently on the pitch as a result.
What it does
In essence, it streamlines the process of organising a football session for both casual enjoyers and active fans of "the beautiful game" alike. To prioritise the Hackathon's theme of Community, a communication thread has been added so that any general queries or sessions to be scheduled can be sent for all to see and reply to. In addition, to counteract the ever-lasting problem of a session lacking the right players, pitch and timing, Foot-In utilises Supabase to provide a list of available pitches that can be sorted based on their pitch size, price, rating and availability. Users can also access resources by speaking to the website's AI Coach Chat which can provide relevant and tailored training information.
How we built it
Google AI Studio, Visual Studio Code, Cloudfare, Vercel, Supabase.
Challenges we ran into
Web-Server Deployment, Back-end implementation, API Key Implementation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning how API Keys are implemented and utilised within the website, Deployment of a front-end website (via Cloudfare) and pairing that with the Backend Database (Supabase).
What we learned
Handling a task under a restricted time-constraint, researching and documenting into potential project solutions, and lastly, handling collaboration in the essence of assigning task and responsibilities to people within a team-environment.
What's next for Foot-In
After further development and improvement, we aim to release a functional, responsive and consumer-ready product that the local community can utilise to its full extent and foster a tight-knit football community within the West Midlands and potentially expanding across the country in the future.
