Inspiration
Based on the nature of loving cats and kitties, we decide to make a project to express the cuteness and friendliness of the lovely cats. Furthermore, this project is the descendant of a game we created about cats with its most defining characteristics.
What it does
The Gattwo is the friendly desktop companion, which relieves the stress after seating in one place for prolonged times. It also tells the temperature and humidity, so the user can have a better knowledge of their workspace's environment.
How we built it
Gattwo was made from an Arduino Uno, temperature & humidity sensor, light sensor, LCD display, and a motor all connected through a breadboard. We then built a cardboard container to hold the hardware while making only the LCD display visible.
Challenges we ran into
This is the first time we have ever used an Arduino kit, so we ran into a few of problems regarding the coding and the challenges in connecting parts. It was also the first time I used 3D printing, so I printed a model that did not have support structures, causing a section of it to collapse.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are so proud that we have made it despite the numerous issues we encountered. We improvised at these times, sometimes finding a creative solution that was better than the original idea.
What we learned
We learn more about Arduino, sensors, 3D printing, and motors.
What's next for Gattwo
Gàttre!!??!
