Inspiration
It is always difficult to pick a gift for your love ones when the holiday is around the corner.
What it does
It is an E-commerce website allowing people to buy special gift packages according to the occasion and budget.
How we built it
For frond end, we used html, css and bootstrap. For back end, we used python, flask and the SAP Yaas API.
Challenges we ran into
This project is bigger than we thought. For a 24-hour hackathon, it is difficult to get all the features working at once, especially it is also our first time using the SAP Yaas API and working on an e-commerce web application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The front end was built entirely from scratch, using only HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. We are proud to have at least some features working (front and back end connected) namely: sign-in, registration, log-out, parse the product information, token verification and renewable. We also have many other back end features working, including the shopping cart (post, create cart, delete, get, add items, and check items), price, and product aspects, but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to connect them with the application.
What we learned
- How to use the SAP Yaas API
- Working in a team that never worked together before
- Postman
- Flask socket
What's next
We want to finish all the features that we initially planned, including shopping cart, checkout, and payment. We also want to bring more features to the web application, namely connecting it to our partners/product owners and allowing the customers to customize the products (choosing brands)
