I have never used an API before so I wanted to give it a go.

So I thought it would be interesting to have a live count of online users.

It took a lot of help from the Pusher team as there were problems with getting android studio to work with the pusher API. But once that was set up, it was just a matter of implementing logic to provide the app functionality.

I had a lot of problems trying to get the API to work with android studio and connect to the channel.

As I said I have not used an API before so I was happy just to get it working.

I learned a lot about how API's work and how to change states of an app based on a user input.

In my spare time around university I will try to expand on the app and have it on the google play store eventually.
