Inspiration
We wanted to help kids achieve a healthier lifestyle.
What it does
Kids can sign up for an account using their email address. Then they can learn tidbits every day from our database of nutrition and environment tips. Finally, they can compete against others by answering questions to earn points in the minigame.
How I built it
This app was built using Android Studio and Firebase (authentication and realtime-database).
Challenges I ran into
We have never used Firebase before, and Android Studio freezes often.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud of what we built without a lot of previous experience.
What I learned
Database operations are async. A little odd for Java.
What's next for Greener
Polish and improvement. We plan to use fitness data from Google Fit to bring in the element of physical exercise.
